[After the Indie Boost Lab Ends]

The Indie Boost Lab ended successfully, and it was time to send rewards to the users who gave various feedback on Stove.

We also held a mouse pad event, so we made and sent rewards related to it!

The 38cm X 28cm mouse pad was large for a short pad, so I was happy that those who received it seemed satisfied!

After the Indie Boost Lab ended, we summarized the feedback while looking at the survey and store page.

We realized that making a game started in an immature state, and the road to completion is not easy.

After organizing what needs to be improved in Excel, we decided to determine the direction of improvement.

[Game Remake Direction - Planning]

The game started with the character's conversation in the demo part, but the game ended due to the lack of character appeal or explanation.

We judged based on feedback that the coherence of the conversation was greatly lost as the development progressed without gaining persuasiveness in the beginning.

Therefore, we are focusing on strategies to captivate users in the introduction and are reorganizing the story itself to increase fun, immersion, and persuasiveness.

We will maintain the core plot of the game and the elements of the main characters.

[Game Remake Direction - Art]

There were many users who praised the character design, but we will check if there are any likes and dislikes and refine the character design a little more,

In the case of standing CG, it was pointed out that it was a shame that there was only a front pose, so we will add one pose each for the left, center, and right,

We planned to add facial expression changes accordingly.

In the case of the background, we used 3D models until the demo, but we are also looking for ways to draw the background by hand.

The coloring method has also changed a lot since January 2025, so we are trying to meet users with a new sensibility!

I had many thoughts, but after watching this live broadcast, I wonder if this person has truly enjoyed playing games? I wonder if they understand the flow of games in this era and are talking about normalization and running the game.

It's an act of abandoning those who are working hard. How many times have you slightly changed and rehashed new servers in other games? What's still alive from those games? It used to be like that, but this isn't the game era anymore. You need to keep the existing players and think about attracting more to last longer.

What's connected here? Lower the item drop rate because the progress is too fast and slowly match the top content? Where does it say to do it slowly because you guys keep failing to create content? 

If you tell a poor family to eat little by little because they don't have money, they'll do it, but is this the only house? They can play other games, right? You're talking nonsense about normalization, charging a lot, and then releasing a new server in a month to make money, which shows that you can't save it with your abilities anymore.

There are plenty of good games like Aion 2, Lineage Classic, and Diablo 2... Are you still not coming to your senses and dying because those games are doing well??

You're just not developing the game, so it's failing. Do you remember V4, Hit 2? They're still doing the same thing, the operation is the same, there's no progress, and what? Rather, do it slowly? *********

Are you easing the burden on whales and taking care of them? Promotions are like gasoline now. It goes up quickly in a few days and then ends when you get sanctioned or the issue is over. What does that become?? It's pathetic.

There's so much more, but I'm getting burnt out from writing.

I didn't write because I thought, 'What's the point of writing this?' but I'm writing because it pisses me off that the game I'm playing is like this. 

The management team wouldn't have updated like this if they listened to someone and changed... I know, but just... sigh... I just think about it every time I see the game. 

It's funny to talk about it outside of the game... it's absurd... so I wrote it. I won't write anymore.

'Secret Curriculum', which was one of the most anticipated works of the year.시크릿 커리큘럼'It has finally been officially released with the sensational title of 'Korea's first divorced woman dating sim'. 

I was also very much looking forward to this dating sim, so I waited for the release of the game with excitement every day, and as soon as I had time after its release, I immediately played it. 

As expected, it was a dating sim that gave me a great sense of satisfaction. Following the previous work 'Sisters Curriculum', I enjoyed playing this one as well.

[Advantages]

1. Excellent artwork and illustrations.

Following the previous work, the CG quality of this work is also excellent. Thanks to that, my eyes were entertained throughout the play. Just looking at the numerous high-quality CGs, I think it's worth buying this work.

The new standing CGs of Yeonhee and Yuri were also so pretty and nice. It came out so pretty and just my style. 

And Maman's Dongtan look and bunny girl... is there any need to explain? It's just light itself.

2. Immersive story. And so many delicious lines

Every line written in the story is so delicious. Especially when you listen to what Seonhwa says, it's all 'divorced woman with two daughters in their 20s' would say to a 'younger man who is more than 20 years younger'. I think they captured the historical accuracy so well. 

And the lines of Seonhwa's cute and pretty daughters, Yuri & Yeonhee, were also so good. Through each line, I could vividly feel the embarrassing and uneasy feelings of "daughters watching their mother dating a boy of a similar age to them." I felt like I was in a makjang drama myself, and it was crazy and very fun.

The immersive story that keeps flowing without any time to be bored was also so good. As 'divorced woman dating sim' has an unprecedented and unconventional title, I was curious about what kind of story would unfold and my expectations were high, and I was satisfied that a hotter and more interesting story than I had imagined came out. 

While developing a relationship with Seonhwa and flirting with her while playing, I felt like I was committing 'forbidden love' in real time. This sense of depravity drove me crazy and raised the immersion even further. The protagonist was just a 'private tutor', and Seonhwa, who was just a 'parent' who hired the protagonist, gradually broke away from the formal relationship of 선화가, 점차 'teacher and parent' and developed their relationship, which was not too forced and natural.

Furthermore, after the protagonist confessed to Seonhwa, while the protagonist and Seonhwa were continuing their ambiguous relationship, my dopamine peaked in the part where Yeonhee fell in love with the protagonist and confessed. I understood Yeonhee's heart who decided to confess with a glimmer of hope even though she knew that the chances of success were low, and I felt so guilty that I couldn't give up Seonhwa even while receiving Yeonhee's confession, and that moment when complex emotions were intertwined inside me was so dizzying. 

"The boy I like, it turns out, likes my mom.".. Looking back, it's quite a devastating sentence. Yeonhee, who finally acknowledged the relationship between the protagonist and her mother and decided to support them, seems great again.

3. Excellent voice actors' performances

The voice actors' performances were GOAT itself this time as well. Now, in dating sims, 'voice' has become an indispensable element. Thank you to the voice actors who always enhance the immersion of the work with their excellent performances.

4. SD CGs well utilized in the right places

I think that 'SD CG' can be an element that impairs the immersion of the work if used incorrectly. For example, if an SD CG comes out in a part where a special 'event CG' should come out, I can't help but be a little disappointed.

However, Secret Curriculum seems to have utilized these SD CGs well in the right places. The cute SD CGs that captured vivid situation descriptions did not bother me at all while playing the game, and rather became an element that further enhanced the fun of the game. 

Maman, who secretly rummages through midnight snacks at night, is so cute and lovely.

[Disadvantages]

There doesn't seem to be any other disadvantages except that there are still occasional bugs, and instead, I'll write down some of the things I was disappointed about. 

[Disappointing points]

1. Tantalizing bed scenes

Personally, I honestly feel that the bed scenes are too short. It's good that there are as many as 3 bed scenes, but since all 3 bed scenes are shown intensely only as a taste, I feel tantalized and go crazy..

Even if the 1st and 2nd bed scenes are like that, I think it would have been okay to increase the amount of the 3rd bunny girl bed scene a little more. The bed scene quality itself was so good.

2. Cannot set the protagonist's name

In immersing oneself in a work, 'whether or not you can directly set the protagonist's name' is also an important part. In that regard, I was a little disappointed that I couldn't set the protagonist's name myself.

If the characters in the story directly call the protagonist's name, I can fully understand the restriction on setting the protagonist's name. However, in Secret Curriculum, the characters only call the protagonist by titles such as 'teacher' & 'junior', so there wouldn't have been a big problem even if I could directly set the protagonist's name.

[In closing]

It was a dating sim made to date 'sisters', but for some reason, the popularity of the sisters' 'mother'

has skyrocketed. Thanks to that, beyond the sisters, we can now target the sisters' mother and achieve forbidden love. 'Age difference of 20 years or more'. It's a condition that is realistically difficult to overcome, and it's a background that is hard to say is socially good. Nevertheless.. maybe those elements are not so important in love. Regardless of what others say, if they are happy and love each other dearly, isn't that all that matters? 

Thank you to the Wazawaza production team for making a fun and good work. I am looking forward to the supporter-only IF story DLC that will be released soon, and the next work that will be released in the future!

[스토브 인디] 크롤 택틱스 도트 그래픽이 결합한 고전 로그라이크 게임


오랜만에 크롤택틱스라는 재미난 인디게임을 접하게 되었습니다. 특히 턴제 게임 중 몇몇은 고순위의 랭킹에 진입한 적도 있었을 정도로 꽤 열심히 했던지라 관심이 컸어요. 로그라이크라고 한다면 계속 반복된 플레이를 거쳐 선택지에 익숙해진 상태로 엔딩을 진입하는 경우가 많습니다. 그래서 플레이 타임을 길게 잡는 편입니다.


전체적인 배경은 도트 그래픽의 고전게임 양식이고 장르는 턴제, 로그라이크입니다. 크롤 택틱스는 여기에 캐릭터 육성이 포함된 RPG가 결합해서 용병을 고용하고 키워나가면서 던전을 돌파하는 RPG 어드벤처의 구도로 나아간다는 점. 처음 시작하면 파티 단위로 고를 수 있습니다. 처음에는 모험가 파티만 개방되고 나머지는 미개방된 상태로 시작하더군요. 대안에서 쉬움 모드, 타락 모드를 선택할 수 있어 난이도를 더 낮추거나 높일 수 있습니다. 둘다 선택하지 않으면 보통 모드로 진행하게 됩니다.


처음 시작하게 되면 ?로 여러 방들이 표기가 됩니다. 범례에서는 각각의 아이콘들이 어떤 방인지 표시가 되어 있습니다. 별다른 설명이 나오진 않는데 제가 플레이해본 바 해당 방들의 특징은 다음과 같습니다.

적대적 파티: 전투 혹은 골드 상납 or 교환으로 방을 돌파할 수 있습니다.

중립 파티: 전투는 선택적으로 할 수 있고, 그냥 방을 통과할 수 있습니다. 물물교환을 할 수 있습니다. 


제단: 랜덤으로 골드 혹은 디버프를 받을 수 있습니다. 

치료 제단: 캐릭터의 HP를 모두 회복할 수 있습니다. 

마법, 기술 상점: 기술이나 마법, 포션 등을 구매할 수 있습니다. 

보물: 두루마리 혹은 장비를 얻을 수 있습니다.

목적지: 도달할 경우 해당 던전 지역의 탐험을 종료할 수 있습니다. 

크립: 전투를 하여 방을 통과할 수 있습니다.

보스: 강력한 크립이 존재하는 방으로 전투를 거쳐서 통과할 수 있습니다.


좌측 하단은 캐릭터 시선 방향 설정+스킬을 모아놓은 것이고 우측 하단은 사용 아이템입니다. 좌측 상단은 캐릭터 리스트, 용병 보유 상황, 영혼 개수, 골드 액수, 도덕성 스텟을 볼 수 있습니다. 이 때 도덕성이라는 스텟은 마법 치료량을 늘려주는 대신 어둠 마법 피해량은 낮아지도록 합니다. 


캐릭터들은 스킬을 배우거나 스텟이 좋은 장비를 새로 장착하여 강화할 수 있어요.

물론 죽고 나면 그냥 끝이기 때문에 체력 관리를 해가면서 캐릭터들을 각 전투 때마다 신중하게 활용해야 합니다. 크롤 택틱스 같은 경우에는 그나마 HP가 0이 되더라도 죽음의 관문이라고 하여 한번의 공격을 더 버틸 수 있습니다. 

하지만 적이 연속 공격을 한다면 죽음의 관문 상태가 되고 그 자리에서 한번 더 공격을 받아 사망이라서 그런 것도 계산을 해야 되더라고요. 새로 용병을 고용할 수 있다고 하는데 투자한 장비, 기술, 레벨이 모두 없어진다고 하면 그것대로 골치가 아프죠. 

지나온 방도 다시 한번 돌아갈 수 있습니다. 그래서 제단에서 체력 회복을 아꼈다가 몇번의 전투를 거친 후 돌아가서 치료를 받을 수도 있고 전투로 골드를 번 상태로 지나온 상점에서 물품을 구매할 수 있죠. 

던전의 종류는 폐허, 동굴, 카타콤, 숲 등이 있습니다. 던전마다 환경적인 요인이 작용하는데요. 풀숲의 경우 불로 광역 화공을 할 수도 있고 물 위의 적은 감전을 시킬 수도 있습니다. 또한 독구름에 불을 붙이면 추가적인 데미지를 입힐 수 있죠. 

또한 필드에서는 랜덤으로 함정들이 설치되어 있습니다. 이것은 적이든 아군이든 둘다 피해를 입힐 수 있습니다. 그래서 이걸 피해서 이동을 하거나 적을 유인하여 공략할 수도 있습니다. 

스테이지에서 보스를 잡고 나면 시작점으로 이동합니다. 이 시작점에서는 건물을 지을 수 있습니다. 건축과 업그레이드에 드는 재화는 영혼으로 전투 방에서 일정 턴에만 필드에 존재합니다. 던전에서 여러 상점, 병영을 거쳐갈 필요 없이 여기서 용병이랑 기술, 포션 등을 구매할 수 있습니다. 그래서 약간의 내정 시스템도 포함이 되어 있죠. 

리더가 죽으면 해당 방에서 부활시키지 않는 이상 그대로 게임 오버가 되어버립니다. 이 때 세이브 데이터 기록도 삭제가 되어버리기에 새로 시작해야 하더라고요. 

자유도는 높은 대신 한번 죽으면 다시 세이브 지점에서 되돌리는 플레이는 불가하다는 이야기입니다. '한번 지나간 여러 방도 자유롭게 돌아다닐 수 있고 캐릭터 고용도 자유로워, 대신에 한번 죽으면 끝이야' 라는 메세지인 셈입니다.

메인 메뉴에 있는 위키에서 아이템, 장비, 기술, 직업 등을 참고할 수 있었는데요. 다만 획득하지 않은 직업은 볼 수 없는데다가 획득 루트도 명확하게 있었다면 좋을텐데 그건 없었습니다. 인 게임 플레이 중에는 볼 수 없다는 점 때문에 아쉽더라고요. 

사실 크롤 택틱스의 이런 부분은 필수적으로 들어갈 것이 아니라 플러스 알파 요소라고 생각합니다. 어차피 로그라이크 게임이니까 계속해보면서 알면 된다라는 마음가짐이라 없어도 신경쓰지 않았을 거에요. 다만 이왕 넣을거면 실제 플레이에 더 도움이 되는 방향으로 했으면 좋지 않을까 싶네요.  

그리고 자체적으로 난이도를 낮아지게 하는 설정이 몇가지가 있습니다. 설정 내에서 '행동 확인'은 선택한 타일에 함정이 있거나 아군에게 데미지를 주지 않는다면 확인 메세지를 표기하도록 해줍니다. 이 때문에 아무런 데미지도 입히지 못하는 지형 혹은 파괴하려는 함정 근처에 아군이 있다면 상단에 메세지로 경고를 해주더라고요. 

그 밖에도 게임패드, 키보드 커맨드 설정도 가능했습니다. 

게임 자체가 RPG, 턴제, 로그라이크를 복합적으로 섞어놓았지만 UI가 직관적이고 컨텐츠들도 단순화해서 적응하기 편했습니다. 튜토리얼 한번만 돌면 다 이해할 정도입니다. 

로그라이크라고 하지만 적대 파티나 크립인지, 중립 파티인지, 상점인지 정도만 파악하면 됩니다. 게다가 길도 그렇게 많은 편은 아니고 랜덤성도 제단에서 버프를 받냐 디버프를 받냐 등 이벤트 자체가 복잡하게 느껴지지 않았습니다. 외워둬야 할 부분은 기술, 직업 등 컨텐츠들의 매커니즘보다는 유닛이나 장비의 디테일한 특성들일 뿐, 입문하기에는 장벽이 낮았어요. 

그리고 무엇보다 유저들을 배려하고자 이것저것 장치를 마련해둔게 보여서 사용자 경험을 중요시했다는 느낌이 많이 들었습니다. 특히 고전게임에서 커맨드 키도 잘 모르는 상태에서 이것저것 조작해야 했던 경험 탓에 더 긍정적으로 다가오는 점도 있었네요. 

도트 그래픽에 아기자기한 인디게임으로 보이지만 간단한 적응 과정만 거치면 알차게 즐길 수 있습니다. 해당 게임은 스토브 인디에서 다운받을 수 있으니 참고하시면 좋겠습니다.
