플랫포머를 좋아하고 나름 퀄리티도 좋아서 스토브 인디 할인기간에 구매했던 게임입니다.
안 좋은 이야기를 하기전에 좋은 점 부터 이야기 하겠습니다.
먼저 도트 퀄리티가 한땀한땀 정성이 들어간 것 처럼 부드럽게 움직이는게 맘에 들었습니다.
각 캐릭터마다 8개의 스프라이트를 사용해서 움직인 것 같아 보였습니다.
그리고 퍼즐 레벨디자인도 잘 구현했습니다.
밟으면 사라지지만 생성과 반전을 통한 시스템으로 재미있게 만든 퍼즐이었습니다.
여기까지만 보면 정말 잘만든 게임이라고 말할 수 있습니다.
하지만 스토리로 인해서 이 멋진 그래픽과 시스템을 망쳐놓았습니다.
네러티브가 중요한 이유가 무엇이냐면 게임에 몰입하게 되는 요소 중 하나라고 말하고 싶습니다.
게임의 흐름은 시스템적으로 풀어나갈 수 있지만 네러티브적으로도 풀어나가는 것도 하나의 방법입니다.
에반의 유산은 후자의 방식으로 게임의 흐름을 유도했고요.
그래서 스토리가 가장 중요했던 게임입니다.
처음에는 퍼즐요소와 다이시스의 중점으로 이야기가 전개가 되지만
점차 다른 시점이 나오면서 뭔가 스토리 라인에 대한 떡밥들이 점차 커져나갔습니다.
결국에는 이 떡밥들은 회수되지 않은 채로 게임이 끝나버렸죠.
아... 정말 말하면 스포일러라서 참겠습니다. 직접해보고 알아보시기 바랍니다.
저는 개인적으로 얼리액세스 버전이라고 생각했습니다.
근데 정보를 찾아보니 정식출시된 게임이더라고요? 충격받았습니다.
제가 게임은 시스템적으로만 비판을 하지 스토리는 웬만하면 비판을 하지 않는데 개발자가 옆에 있었다면 스토리부터 비판할 것입니다.
떡밥을 다 회수하고 기승전결 완벽하게 끝냈다면 충분히 칭찬하고 다른 사람에게 추천할만한 게임이었는데
이런 스토리를 가진 게임은 저는 추천하고 싶지 않습니다.
정말 아쉬웠던 게임이라고 생각합니다.
