간략한 게임 소개
카메라로 사물을 찍고, 그 사진을 붙여 발판을 만드는 플랫포머 퍼즐 게임입니다. 플레이 타임은 4.7시간 걸렸고, 국산 게임이라 공식한글화가 되어 있습니다.
잔류하는 추억의 파편
게임은 한 소녀와 고양이의 모습을 보여주며 시작합니다. 고양이가 소녀에게 다가가는 와중에 갑자기 돌풍이 불어오고, 고양이와 함께 카메라가 휩쓸리며 이상한 포탈 속으로 빨려들어갑니다.
이후 보여지는 게임의 목표는 소녀와 고양이의 추억들을 하나씩 짜맞춰 가는 것입니다. 첫만남에서부터 둘이 함께 했던 소중한 추억들까지 하나씩 사진을 완성해가면서 우리는 고양이와 소녀의 이야기를 엿볼 수 있습니다. 사실 게임이 진행되면서 엔딩을 충분히 예상했음에도 불구하고, 정작 엔딩을 직접 맞닥뜨리니 콧등이 시큰해졌습니다. 예전에 플레이했던 The Normal Thing이란 게임도 떠오르고 말이죠.
남는 건 사진 뿐
전투가 없는 플랫포머 퍼즐 게임들은 그자체만으로는 밋밋하기 때문에, 적어도 하나씩은 특유의 기믹을 가지고 있습니다. 예를 들면, The Swapper는 클론건으로 클론을 만들어내고 스와퍼로 본체와 클론의 정신을 바꿀 수 있습니다. Closure는 빛이 비추는 곳만 물체가 존재하고, Out of Line은 투창을 이용해 퍼즐을 풀어나가게 되죠. 셔터냥 역시 고유의 특징이 있는데, 바로 "카메라 액션"입니다.
룰은 간단합니다. 특정 사물의 사진을 찍고, 그걸 배경에 붙여서 발판으로 활용하는 것입니다. 사진은 최대 9장까지 찍을 수 있으며, 배경에 붙인 사진은 일정 시간이 지나면 사라집니다. 경로를 스스로 개척한다는 점 때문에 게임이 쉽게 느껴질 수도 있지만 실상은 그렇지 않습니다. 방해 요소가 적은 초반에는 그다지 어렵지 않으나 후반으로 갈수록 다양한 방해요소가 등장해 난이도를 더욱 어렵게 만듭니다. 귀여운 고양이만 보고 게임을 쉽게 보면 콱 물릴 수 있습니다. 퍼즐은 총 5개의 스테이지에 각 5개의 퍼즐맵이 존재합니다.
저는 난이도를 낮춰주는 어시스트 모드와 슬로우 모션 기능을 켜고 게임을 했는데도 꽤 어려웠습니다. 머리를 써서 발판의 배치를 미리 생각해야 하며, 더불어 방해요소를 회피하는 피지컬 역시 필요한 게임입니다. 저는 피지컬 쪽이 좀 문제라서 좀 힘들었습니다. 하지만 난이도가 어려운 것과 별개로 시스템이 불합리하다고 여겨지지는 않습니다. 그 이유는 뜬금없는 요소가 없고 실패의 리스크도 크지 않기 때문입니다. 죽으면 찍어놓은 사진이 없어지긴 하지만, 미리 뚫어놓은 문이라든가 부숴놓은 벽들은 그대로 유지됩니다. 그래서 실패한 시도여도 의미가 없는 것은 아니죠. 체크포인트의 거리도 적절하게 구성되어서 하나의 고비를 넘긴 뒤 충분히 숨을 고를 수 있습니다.
또, 어렵다고는 하나 반복을 통해 충분히 깰 수 있는 난이도입니다. 다만, 어시스트 모드와 특히 슬로우 모션 기능을 해제하면 엄청난 난이도를 맛보게 될 겁니다. 그래도 "슈퍼 미트 보이"에 비하면 아주 양반으로 보이네요. (이 게임은 고작 90번 죽는데 그쳤으니까요) 전체적으로 재밌으면서 딱히 모난 구석이 없는 깔끔한 맛의 플랫포머 퍼즐게임입니다.
