램프 크로니클은 2021년 1월에 스팀에서 얼리 액세스로 발매된 게임입니다. 초기에는 난이도가 너무 높았는데 난이도와 밸런싱이 일부 수정되었죠
게임의 스토리는 어둠의 기운에 의해서 왕국이 멸망하게 되는데 공주가 주인공 루카에게 왕국의 보물인 램프가 맡깁니다. 램프를 노리던 대 마법사가 공주를 납치하고 주인공이 공주를 구하기 위한 모험을 떠난다는 이야기입니다.
게임의 스토리는 대마법사가 왕국을 배신하고 대마법사를 계획을 저지하기 위해 공주는 빛의 램프를 감춥니다. 그러자 대 마법사가 공주를 납치하고 주인공이 공주를 구하기 위한 모험을 떠난다는 내용입니다.
전반적으로 동화적인 스토리 라인과 이 스토리처럼 밝고 부드러운 색감의 그래픽이 매력입니다.

<간간이 대화를 통해서 스토리를 알려 줍니다.>
<첫 번째 목표는 로크 할아버지의 대장간을 찾는 것>
<우물로 지역 이동을 하는데 이동할 수 있는 장소가 제한적입니다.>
주인공의 성장의 경우 체력을 따로 올리고 특수 능력을 따로 익혀야 하기 때문에 익숙해지는데 시간이 필요한 데다가 익숙해지기 전에는 게임이 너무 단조롭고 지루하다고 느낄 것입니다.
성장을 위해서는 페이지를 모아야 하는데 페이지가 많이 나오지도 않고 주인공이 너무 약해서 초반은 너무 힘들고 지루합니다.
배경과 그래픽은 상당히 매력적이지만 그 배경과 그래픽을 마음껏 돌아다니지 못하니 게임이 지루하게 느껴지는 셈이죠 특히 성장의 경우 페이지를 모아야 하는데 페이지는 10~15분에 1개 정도 얻을 정도로 많이 드롭되지 않습니다.
그렇다고 성장을 충분히 시키지 않고 진행하면 게임의 난이도가 대폭 올라갑니다.

<성장이 힘들다 보니 보스전도 힘든 편입니다.>
그래서 전반부에 성장을 위해서 허비하는 시간이 상당히 긴 편입니다. 게임에 익숙해지고 다양한 능력들을 익히기 시작하면 재미있지만 그 준비 과정이 너무 긴 편입니다.
블러드 스테인드나 샨테 같은 게임을 참고해서 이 부분을 보완해야 할 필요가 있지 않나 하네요
이 게임은 분명 매력적입니다. 하지만 밸런싱이 너무 안 좋습니다. 아직 얼리 액세스인 만큼 보완의 여지는 많습니다. 그렇기에 단점들을 잘 보완하여 멋진 작품이 되길 바랍니다.
제가 생각하는 개선안
얼리 액세스인 만큼 제가 생각하는 이 게임의 개선안도 함께 적도록 하겠습니다.
첫 번째로 지적하고 싶은 건 전투인데 주인공의 HP4 가 4이고 한대 맞으면 HP가 1감소합니다. 그리고 대부분의 적들은 근접해서 2~3대를 맞아야 쓰러집니다. 이건 게임의 난이도를 크게 높이고 있습니다.
내가 적에게 1대 때리면 나도 적에게 맞을 수 있는데 체감상 적의 HP와 내 HP가 거의 비슷하니 일반 몬스터와의 전투가 쉽지 않습니다.
게다가 대부분의 적들의 공격이 빠르고 예측이 힘들기 때문에 가장 편하게 플레이하는 방법은 맞으면서 싸우는 것입니다. 그러니 계속해서 회복 아이템을 먹으면서 진행하면서 회복 아이템 부족에 시달리게 됩니다.
그러나 이 게임은 음식으론 HP1~2 정도만 회복시켜주니 전투 시간에 비해서 회복에 들어가는 시간도 길어지면서 게임이 늘어지게 됩니다.
중간 보스로 등장하는 예티 로드의 경우 예티와 동일한 행동 패턴을 가지고 있고 그냥 체력이 더 많을 뿐입니다. 그래서 예티 보다 더 많이 맞으면서 싸우는 수밖에 없습니다.
<최대 HP는 4~6 정도뿐인데>
<예 쓰러뜨리려면 맞으면서 6대를 때려야 합니다.>
그렇다면 어떻게 보완해야 할까요? 저는 먼저 HP의 최대치부터 높여야 한다고 생각합니다. 맞으면 하트의 반만 감소하게 하여 실질 HP를 2배로 늘리고 회복 아이템으로 하트 1개가 회복되면 회복도 더 편해질 것입니다.
그리고 강적의 경우 하트 한 개를 감소하는 강력한 공격을 하되 이 공격을 하기 전 고유의 모션과 약간의 대기 시간을 넣어서 공격을 쉽게 예측할 수 있도록 해야 한다고 생각합니다.
이렇게 함으로써 맞으면서 싸울 수 있는 일반적과 적에 따라서 대응이 달라지는 강적으로 분리된다면 진행이 좀 더 편해질 것입니다.

그리고 비행 몬스터들의 경우 짧은 공격거리로 상대하기는 상당히 까다로운 반면 얻는 것은 적고 게다가 딜레이 없이 공격을 하기 때문에 정말 피하고 싶은 적들입니다. 이 적들은 HP를 대폭 낮추고 공격 대기 시간을 늘려야 한다고 봅니다.
그리고 원거리 몬스터가 보이지 않는 범위에서 공격하는 건 공격 거리가 짧은 주인공에게 너무 불리합니다. 보이지 않으면 공격을 하지 않도록 바꿔주었으면 좋겠습니다.

마지막으로 귀환 아이템에 해당하는 귀환 카드는 마을에서 팔거나 또는 만물상이 있는 곳에 빠른 이동 포인트를 만들어 주었으면 합니다. 떠돌이 만물상에서만 살수 있는데 가격도 비싸고, 만물상까지 가는 게 너무 힘들어 쓰기도 너무 어렵습니다.
전 이런 부분은 난이도보다는 편의성 측면에서 제약을 두지 않는 게 좋다고 생각합니다. 실제로 블러드 스테인드도 이런 귀환 아이템은 구하기 별로 어렵지 않고 사용에도 큰 제약을 두지 않고 있습니다.
