hello!
This is Stove Crew 1st Generation Jo Hye-bin! 🌝✨
Today I have a really special indie game for you.
I came to introduce you...!
Exactly... 🖤
“For whom is your suffering?”
Emotional pixel art + philosophical message + crazy directing = 🧩
🎮 This is INMOST 🎮 !!
Me again...
Emotional narrative, pixelated emotions, and a slightly philosophical and open-ended game.
I'm the type that really loves...
This is definitely my game!!!!!!!!!
I brought a review because I wanted to ㅎㅎ☺️
📌 If I had to describe Inmost in just one word... it would be ' pain ' .
But we face and accept that pain in various ways.
It unfolds from the perspectives of three characters, making it really immersive!
From now on, let's follow these three people's journey together 🌫️✨
Before that!!
I prepared a video that you can watch lightly! 😎
This is my first video, so there are a lot of shortcomings...
Created purely through editing
Please take it lightly as it is my original creation...♥️
⚠️ This review is written with a focus on the game's structural understanding and emotions.
Please note that this may contain some emotional spoilers!
📌 What kind of game is Inmost?
In one sentence,
“If my suffering were for someone else, would I be able to endure it?”
It's an emotional narrative game that asks this question to the player.
The game is played out from the different perspectives of three characters—a man, a knight, and a girl .
Their stories don't seem connected at first, but
As it progresses into the second half, it interlocks like a puzzle and forms one huge emotional line.
This emotional line is about 'pain' and the reason for enduring that pain.
⭐I think it would be good to focus on the different plays of these three people.
⭐ Also, since you come back to life immediately after dying in this game, feel free to try it out!!
⭐Do things you normally couldn't do out of fear of dying or losing your current gameplay.
Maybe you'll get a reward for your new actions 😤
🧍♂️ [A Man's Story] - The Fear of Escape and Survival
One day, a man wakes up in front of a castle. He wanders in a dark world different from reality.
Here we can feel the typical puzzle platformer controls.
✔ There are various interactions such as jumping, hanging, solving puzzles, and using objects.
✔ You must avoid or utilize the surrounding hazards and evade your enemies.
This guy's part deals with the horror of survival .
You have to run away from monsters without weapons and find a place to hide.
Above all, the pressure from the shadowy presence chasing him is tremendous🔥
But the man keeps moving forward... why is that?
Through the 'pain crystal' that we collect piece by piece in the game, we gradually get closer to the man's emotions😢
The moment I realized the true meaning of his suffering, my heart broke...😢
🛡️ [The Knight's Story] - The horror of fighting and sacrifice
This part is done completely differently.
The knight cannot jump, but must move using ropes and cut down enemies with his sword.
The enemies he faces appear endlessly like the forces of darkness,
Progress is impossible without avoiding slaughter.
✔️The article's part is very fairytale-like, dramatic, and tragic .
All his actions are for the "flower of the soul"🌼
But in order to obtain that flower, you must continuously offer 'pain' to the monster.
The suffering he experiences comes from sacrificing himself,
The path he takes leads to deeper and darker places.
This part is narrated by a girl's voice ,
It feels like I'm looking at a knight's life from an outside perspective.
A life of sacrifice for someone can be beautiful,
It was a part that made me feel strongly how helpless and sad one can be at the same time😢
👧 [Child's Story] - The fear of psychological oppression and anxiety
This part takes place in the most realistic setting .
Inside a small house, a young girl tells her story alone.
The girl explores the house while talking to the rabbit doll.
This conversation... is really strangely scary and sad... 😢
The conversation may be entirely in the child's imagination ,
Or maybe they are actually externalizing their emotions through the doll .
The child's behavior is simple,
The emotional oppression and fear felt within it are so deep that it is difficult to express in words.
Above all, “Who is that woman?” and “Why does this house feel unfamiliar?”
These questions keep lingering in my mind.
This part is the most calming, but at the same time contains the most eerie and shocking content .
🌫️ Three stories, connected as one
The stories of three people who at first seemed separate⭐
But as you progress into the later stages of the game, all of these stories start to come together.
And the connection between them is “love” and “memory.”
The game's title, I NMOST —the deepest part of our hearts— ultimately reveals the source of the emotions they share .
The person I loved ,
Lost memories,
And the pain it leaves behind.
All this we feel quietly, but deeply...
🎬 Explosion of direction and emotion
Inmost's presentation is top notch, even though it's just simple pixel art!⭐
The use of light, the movement of shadows, the smooth character motion, and even the sound design...
Especially in the emotional scenes in the latter half, the immersion is so great that you will naturally shed tears along with the background music.
It was a time when I immediately understood the stories of people shedding tears in many reviews😢
The window where light comes in, the moment the lights go out, even the flash of lightning⭐
Each of these detailed productions maximizes the immersion of the game🔥
🩷 Emotional review points!
✅ The storytelling is cinematic, so it’s incredibly immersive!
✅ A narrative structure that deals with pain in three dimensions through three characters
✅ Warm yet cold atmosphere created by emotional pixel art
✅ Highly recommended to those who like emotional horror!!
😥 Any regrets?
✅ It's a shame that it's short. I want to do more, but it's already over...😢
✅ I wish the combat parts were a bit more diverse!!🔥
✅ It's so emotionally focused that if you play too fast, you might miss the emotional line!🤔
⭐ Overall Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is not a simple game😢
I felt like this was an emotional journey, an inner journey....
Pain is scary, lonely, and burdensome, but
If it's for someone, can we endure it?
Inmost asks that question so quietly, yet deeply.
And the final narration.
"My suffering is the price I pay to make you smile even a little."
In this one sentence, all the emotions were really contained.
🔥Finally, I commemorate the review! 🔥
Inmost different style version made with AI
I'll finish by showing you!!
An indie game that was more substantial and beautiful than any blockbuster.
more!
💙 Inmost 💙 This was a review!
Thank you for reading the long text :)
