스트라이드에서 플레이어는 파쿠르 전문가처럼 도시의 지붕 위를 마음껏 활보할 수 있다. 지붕과 지붕 사이를 뛰어넘고, 창문을 빠르게 통과하고, 케이블 위를 미끄러져 내리고, 갈고리를 잡고 회전 기술을 펼쳐볼 수도 있다. 플레이어의 신체 움직임을 바탕으로 부드러운 움직임과 빠른 속도감을 제공하므로, 실제론 도저히 엄두를 내지 못하는 고난도 파쿠르 액션도 얼마든지 펼쳐볼 수 있는 것이 이 게임의 특징이자 매력이다.
게임 내에서 확인할 수 있는 모드는 '엔드리스 모드', '아레나 모드', '타임 런 모드'의 세 가지다. 각각의 게임 모드에서는 아무런 제약이 없는 무한 레벨에서 도전적인 지형을 정복하거나, 슈팅 경험을 함께 즐기고, 시간제한을 설정해두고 자신의 한계를 시험해볼 수 있다.
