I did 20 Moonlight summons but only got 3~4 stars, so I was annoyed that the 4~5 star guaranteed summon only gave 4 stars. I thought about trying Mystic Summons for a bit, and in 30 summons I got Homate. This makes Homate my 40th Moonlight 5-star!! My 39th was the Master of Scales, and wow.. it really relieved my stress.T_T Now I've broken through 40 Moonlight 5-stars!!! In 30 Mystic Summons, the purple light sparkled, and for a moment I covered my mouth. When Homate appeared, I was stunned for about 10 seconds lol. Now, who will be my next Moonlight 5-star recipient..! I hope you all receive some of this good luck..

Many of you are interested in various questions regarding the game, development, and our talented solo dev Sean and his accomplished path! That's why we decided to collect the best questions for Sean, the answers to which we will post for you!
아래는 인터뷰 전문입니다.
Q1: 게임을 보니 거의 걸작 수준이던데, 이걸 정말 혼자서 만드셨나요?
Have you made this masterpiece game completely on your own?
A1: 친구들의 도움을 받긴 했어요 – 음악은 Gab Lim, 스토리에는 Alex Park, 그리고 퍼블리셔인 Super.com에서 이것저것 도와줬죠 – 그치만 아트, 디자인, 프로그래밍은 제가 했기 때문에, 네, 95%정도는 제가 혼자서 했다고 볼 수 있겠네요.
I had some help from my friends - Gab Lim on music, Alex Park on story, and the publisher Super.com on many elements - but I did all of the art, design, and programming so it’s about 95% me.
Q2:게임 내에 삽입한 것들 중 가장 자랑스러운 요소가 무엇인가요? 혹은 게임을 만들면서 골치아팠던 것이 있나요?
What's the proudest feature/thing you've added or worked on in the game? Anything specific that gave you a lot of trouble?
A2: 아무래도 그래픽 쪽 이펙트가 제일 자랑스러워요, 가령 GPU 파티클 이펙트, 날씨, 쉐이더 이펙트 같은 것들이요. 개발을 하면서 이런 이펙트 관련 부분들을 거의 처음부터 배우면서 삽입했기 때문에, 하나하나 알아가는 재미도 있었고, 그걸 게임에 적용할 때도 아주 짜릿했어요.
골치아팠던 부분은 조작과 편의성 관련 이슈였어요. 이런 부분들을 해결하는 데에 시간도 많이 들고, QA도 여러 번 했어야 하다보니, 해결하는데 제일 어려웠던 것 같아요.
I’m most proud of the graphics-related effects I’ve added to the game, like GPU particle effects, weather effects, shaders, and compute shader stuff. I learned most of those things from scratch throughout development, so it was very exciting to figure these things out and then put them into the game. The thing that gave me a lot of trouble were controls and usability-related issues. These things take a lot of time and QA effort to resolve, so it’s been challenging to figure out.
Q3:게임의 볼륨은 얼마나 되나요? 게임을 끝낸 후에도 다회차 요소가 있나요?
How long is the game? And also can we play after finishing the game?
A3: 플레이어의 능력에 따라 달렸지만, 아마 대부분 사람들에게는 4-7시간 정도 걸리지 않을까 싶네요. 비밀 요소도 있고, 타임어택을 할 수 있는 게임 모드도 있어서 플레이하시는 분들은 메인 스토리를 다 보고 나서도 여러 번 플레이하실 수 있습니다.
It depends on the player’s skill, but I think it’ll be around 4-7 hours for most people. There are hidden secrets, game modes and you can challenge your timed records, so players can enjoy the game even after finishing the main story.
Q4: COVID로 인해 개발 과정에서 영향을 받은 적이 있나요?
Did COVID influence you or the development in any way?
A4: 다른 큰 규모의 팀들이 출퇴근을 못하고 재택근무를 하게 된 것에 비하면, 저는 1인 개발자라서 영향이 크진 않았던 것 같아요. 하지만 게임 행사나 쇼가 전부 취소되고 온라인으로 전환된 게 조금 컸죠. 이전 게임들을 개발할 때는 플레이어들의 피드백에 많이 의지했었거든요. 그리고 아직 사태가 진정되지 않았을 때 느꼈던 불확실성이나 공포 때문에 멘탈이 많이 흔들리기도 했어요.
Being a solo developer, I wasn’t impacted as greatly as bigger teams have been due to restrictions forcing people to work from home. However, all of the video game conferences and trade shows being canceled or switching to online was a big change, as I relied on player and developer feedback heavily in previous games I worked on. Also, the constant fear and uncertainty of the pandemic early on probably had an impact on my psyche.
Q5: 만약 이 게임이 팀 개발이었다면, 개발 시간은 얼마나 단축되었을까요? 그리고 어떤 새로운 요소들이 게임에 추가되었을까요?
What do you think, if you had a team, how much would the development time be reduced, and what features would you be able to implement?
A5: 만약 보다 큰 규모의 팀으로 똑 같은 게임이 만들어졌다면 – 개발 시간은 한 30% 정도 단축됐을 것 같아요. 게임 개발에는 꽤 많은 시간이 들어가기 때문에, 정확히 계산하긴 어렵네요.
Making this exact game with a bigger team - maybe the development time could’ve been reduced by 30%. Games take some time to cook, so it’s really hard to estimate.
Q6: 이 게임을 만드는 데 계기가 된 것이나 사람이 있나요?
What or who inspired or influenced you to make this game?
A6: 한국 문화의 여러가지에서 영향을 받았어요 – 고대 건축물, 20세기 초반 역사, 한국의 전통설화와 괴담, 박물관에서 봤던 과거의 한국의 모습 같은 것들에서 영감을 얻었던 것 같아요.
Many elements of Korean culture influenced me - old architecture, early 20th-century history, miniature models of old Korean cities at museums, Korean folklore, and horror, etc.
Q7: 백스탭 기능은 최종 버전에서는 사라졌던데, 왜 삭제되었나요? 개발 로그에서 이 기능을 언급한 걸 봤는데요.
Why was backstab abandoned in the final version? I saw in Devlogs that you originally conceived this feature.
A7: 기능이 아직 남아 있기는 해요, 다만 잘 찾아보셔야 합니다.
This mechanic is still in the game, but you may have to do some work to find it.
Q8: 개인적으로 게임에서 가장 모델링이 잘 되었다고 생각하는 지역은 어디인가요?
In your opinion, what is the best-modeled area in the game?
A8: 메인 미션 밖의 지역들이 가장 마음에 들어요. 공동묘지는 제가 시간을 너무 많이 써서 그런가, 이제는 너무 편안한 기분이 들어요. 그 외에도 마음에 드는 장소가 몇 군데 있어요.
I like the areas outside of the main missions. The graveyard has a comfy feeling for me, having spent so much time there. And there are other relaxing areas later on in the game that I really enjoy being in.
Q9: 본인이 개발한 게임 외에도 다른 게임을 할 시간이 있나요, 아니면 다른 방식으로 휴식을 취하시나요?
Do you have time to play games, or do you prefer to take a break from development in other ways? If by others, then by what?
게임은 항상 많이 해요, 그냥 쉬려고 할 때도 있고, 다른 개발자들의 결과물을 보고 배우려고 할 때도 있어요. 게임 외적으로는 운동, 악기연주, 또는 공포영화를 보면서 쉬는 편이에요.
I play many games, sometimes to relax and other times to learn from other developers. Outside of games, I like to exercise, play music, or watch horror movies to take a break.
Q10: 다회차 요소 측면에서, 게임의 엔딩은 몇 개나 있나요?
In terms of replayability, how many different endings will there be/are there?
A10: 메인 스토리는 1개의 엔딩 뿐이지만, 다회차 요소가 가능하게끔 여러 비밀들과 게임 모드를 만들어놨습니다.
The main story has one ending, but there are many secrets and game modes for replayability.
