Starting with Echidna, which I've cleared the most in solo,
I thought I'd try a party play challenge and looked at the recruitment list
I couldn't understand what the party recruitment posts meant 🤦♀️

Last time I asked a friend,
I heard about tri-hard >clear experience>semi-experienced>fully experienced,
Does 'carry party 1.5' mean the bus fee is 15,000 gold..?
But how do I pay? Do I trade in the dungeon..?
Does 'waiting at entrance' mean waiting at the entrance after entering...?
But in that party, there was a member who took off all their gear and was level 0.
Do everyone except the driver take it off before entering..? Why..?
It seems like 'minimal participation' means not participating in the auction.
But what is 'wing inquiry'? 🫨
I've only watched videos sporadically now,
I thought I'd join if there was a tri-hard party,
I just ended up reading a lot of terms I didn't understand 😂
By the way, even just watching the videos,
There's a huge, high, insurmountable wall between solo and hard mode.
I wonder if I should be going to normal mode first instead of attempting hard mode,
A thought suddenly crossed my mind 😂
I should look for normal mode strategy videos too!

지난 한 해 예상하지 못한 큰 사랑을 받은 업계 대표 '인싸게임'을 한 작품에서 만나게 됐다.
미디어토닉은 지난 16일 공식 커뮤니티 채널을 통해 자사의 대표 게임 '폴 가이즈: 얼티밋 넉아웃(폴 가이즈)'의 시즌4 영상을 공개했다. 영상은 뒤뚱거리듯 정신없이 이곳저곳을 뛰어다니는 폴 가이들의 모습을 담아냈다. 또한, 새로운 복장과 함께 최대한 귀엽게 표현된 폴 가이들로 새 시즌을 준비하는 플레이어들을 기대케 했다.
하지만 이날 팬들의 눈길을 사로잡은 건 영상의 마지막 7초였다. 마치 터미네이터의 모습을 보듯 용암에 빠져 엄지를 척 세운 폴 가이의 모습은 영락없이 크루원이였다. 크루원은 폴 가이즈와 함께 2020년 대표 '인싸 게임'으로 꼽히는 어몽 어스 속 캐릭터다.
특히 크루원은 퇴출자 확인 정보를 껐을 때의 문구인 'was ejected'와 한 명의 임포스터가 남았다는 문장을 표시하며 확실하게 두 게임의 협업을 알렸다. 이후 미디어토닉은 공식 SNS를 통해 어몽 어스와 함께하는 데 대한 기쁨을 표시하며 하의 코스튬은 21 레벨에, 상의 코스튭은 26레벨에 각각 획득할 수 있음을 알렸다.
한편 일각에서는 그간 서로 친숙한 모습을 보였던 두 게임의 협업이 오히려 생각보다 늦은 것 아니냐는 우스갯소리도 나온다.
실제로 폴 가이즈와 어몽 어스는 장르는 다르지만, 대규모 팬데믹 상황에서 게임에 익숙지 않은 이들까지 플레이하게 하며 큰 인기를 끌었고 주요 시상식에서 각 부문 최고의 게임으로 꼽혔다. 이에 양 개발사가 서로 축하를 나누고 응원하는 모습을 공개하기도 했다.
폴 가이즈는 그간 여러 예능 프로그램에서 볼 수 있었던 경쟁 방식의 게임으로 최후의 생존자가 될 때까지 다양한 기믹 속에서 생존하는 라스트맨 스탠딩 류 게임이다. 특히 귀여운 캐릭터와 물리 엔진을 통한 예상치 못한 전개가 더해지며 큰 사랑을 받았다.
여기에 회사와 플랫폼, 장르 등을 가리지 않고 펼쳐지는 컬래버레이션 역시 폴 가이즈의 주요 특징이다. 최강의 악마 도살자 둠 슬레이어나 고전적인 그래픽으로 사랑받은 컵헤드, 하프라이프, 소닉, 이름 없는 거위 게임, 핫라인 마이** 등 여러 작품의 코스튬이 게임에 포함됐다.
여기에 한 발 더 나아가 미디어토닉이 직접 SNS나 공식 채널을 통해 협업 의견을 내기도 했다. 그중 그룹 BTS와 컬래버레이션을 하고 싶다고 밝힌 트윗은 팬덤의 큰 관심을 끌기도 했다. 이후 BTS가 버라이어티 '달려라 방탄'을 통해 폴 가이즈를 플레이한다는 소식이 알려지자 미디어토닉은 이곳저곳에 이를 알리며 기뻐하는 '성덕'의 위엄을 뽐내기도 했다.
이런 행보에 KFC가 자사의 마스코트 커널 샌더스를 폴 가이 모습으로 만들기도 했고 코나미 UK는 메탈기어 솔리드의 주인공 스네이크의 모습을 폴 가이즈 캐릭터 모양으로 그려내는 등 여타 회사가 먼저 관심을 드러내기도 했다.
한편 미래 디자인의 콘셉트가 특징인 폴가이즈 시즌4는 오는 3월 22일 새로운 맵과 함께 시작될 예정이다.
