오늘 TIG 퍼스트룩에서 소개할 게임은, 어떻게 보면 그런 참신함에 제법 부합할 퍼즐 게임이 아닐까 싶습니다. Sander Ambroos가 개발, Business Goose가 퍼블리싱하는 <사이저블(Sizeable)>은 주변 개체 크기를 조절해 맵에 숨겨진 신비한 기둥을 찾아야 하는 탐험 요소가 가미된 게임입니다. 지금부터 어떤 게임인지 한 번 만나보시죠.

게임은 마치 작은 디오마라 같이 구성된 입체적인 맵에서, 숨겨진 '신비한 기둥'을 맵 바깥에 있는 작은 정사각형들에 올려놓는 형식으로 진행됩니다.
게임명 'Sizeable'에서 연상할 수 있는 것처럼, 게임 내 대부분의 개체는 마우스 휠로 크기를 자유롭게 조절할 수 있습니다. 그렇다고, 단순하게 크기만 조절하는 게임은 아닙니다. 크기를 조절함에 따라 맵의 개체들이 상호작용을 하기 때문이죠.

맵의 대부분의 개체를 움직이며, 퍼즐을 푸는 형식입니다
이러한 상호작용은 맵의 퍼즐을 풀 수 있는 단서가 됩니다. 달부터 태양, 집, 나무, 행성 등... 게임 내 모든 개체는 크기가 줄거나 커짐에 따라 서로 다른 상호작용을 합니다. 예를 들어, 달을 작게 만들면 맵의 해수면 높이가 낮아져 바다 안의 무언가를 발견할 수 있고 태양을 크게 만들면 나무와 잔디가 울창한 여름이, 반대로 작게 할수록 가을에서 겨울로 기후가 바뀌는 연출을 보여주기도 합니다. 다시 강조하지만, 변하는 연출은 곧 퍼즐을 푸는 '단서'입니다.
맵에서 상호작용할 수 있는 개체는 마우스를 갖다 대면 흔들거립니다. 그러면 앞서 설명한 크기를 조절하기도 하고, 마우스 왼쪽버튼으로 클릭해 개체를 다른 곳으로 옮길 수도 있습니다.

간단한 조작으로 이루어져 있기 때문에 튜토리얼만 하고 나면 게임에 적응하는 것은 전혀 어렵지 않습니다.
모든 퍼즐 게임이 그렇듯, 다음 부터는 단서를 잘 찾기 위한 '고민'이 중요하겠죠. 신비한 기둥을 도저히 찾을 수 없어 맵 자체를 확대하고 싶었지만, 안타깝게도 그럴 수는 없답니다. :)

개체와 상호작용을 하면 단순 크기만 줄어드는 것이 아니라 기후가 변해 그에 따른 추가 상호작용을 하기도 합니다
<사이저블>은 현재 데모 버전이 공개된 상태입니다. 튜토리얼 개념의 1스테이지부터 총 4개 스테이지로 이루어져 있고요, 스테이지를 거듭할수록 난이도는 점점 올라갑니다.
마우스 오른쪽 버튼으로 맵을 이리저리 돌리고, 휠로 모든 개체 크기를 조절하는 것은 꽤 신선하고, 독특한 방법인 것 같습니다. 겉으로는 평범해보이고, 무슨 퍼즐이 있을지 의문이 가지만 맵을 만지다 보면 의외의 포인트에 답이 놓여 있습니다.
마지막 4번째 스테이지인 정글 테마의 신전은 복잡해 보이지만, 게임의 원리를 잘 이해하면 그야말로 '무릎을 탁 칠 만한' 재미를 제공합니다. 데모 버전이어서 게임을 좀 더 할 수 없다는 것이 아쉬울 정도더라고요.

해보면, 정말 '기발하다!'는 생각이 절로 듭니다
간단한 기능이지만 향후 정식 버전이 나오면 맵을 거듭할 수록 기능을 활용해 점점 다양한 퍼즐을 보여줄 것으로 보입니다. 잔잔하면서, 편안하고 아기자기한 퍼즐게임. 정말 기대됩니다.
<사이저블>은 오는 3월 26일 PC 스팀으로 출시를 앞두고 있습니다. UI, UX를 조절해 모바일 등 타 플랫폼으로 출시해도 정말 좋겠다는 생각도 듭니다.
