Guys, today we meet little Noa. She looks quite saintly, but since she says she is a lost lamb, she might have a dark or hidden side that no one knows about and will only be revealed to the counselor. #MIRESI #InvisibleFuture

It's disgusting, honestly, how they play dumb and pretend to be nice.
Their acting skills are truly terrifying.

A father who ran a retro shop and his daughter, 'Verita'
One day, after returning from running an errand for a customer, the shop is a mess and her father has suddenly disappeared..?
On top of that, she ends up saddled with a huge debt her father left behind...
The game I'm reviewing today is
a mystery visual novel that serves as a sequel to <Stepper Case> and follows the story of girls searching for 'Steppers' with special powers to pay off their debt.
<Stepper Retro: Superpower Mystery Quest> is the title.
Here is a summary of the pros and cons of the game as I experienced it.
+ Excellent storytelling
+ Enhanced visuals
+ New mystery system
- Japanese-style banter
- Mixed feelings about the changed concept
- Increased text volume
Now, let's dive into the details of why I felt this way.
So, what was good?
True to its reputation as a master of storytelling, this work once again showcased excellent storytelling without compromise.
From the interesting story of each episode, shocking plot twists, the connections between episodes, to the climax,
I was very satisfied with the immersive progression that kept me curious about what would happen next.
Especially in the case of Case 3 I think it showed the developer's peak performance and left a strong impression on me.
The visual elements have been enhanced compared to the previous work.
I liked that there was a lot of effort put into increasing visual immersion, from the number and quality of illustrations to Live2D and CG effects.
Added to this were the appropriate BGM that fits the game's atmosphere and the voice acting that captures the characters' personalities well,
making it a treat to enjoy the work both visually and aurally.
The mystery system is also new.
While it continues the method of combining various clues to find leads as in the previous game,
a 'Retro' system has been added that allows the user to flip already combined clues to follow the twists and truth of the case themselves,
which made it easier to focus on the story and stay immersed.
So, what was disappointing?
It might be because the voice acting is in Japanese, but it feels like there is more Japanese-style banter.
Overall, the conversations and reactions between characters felt like they were structured similarly to Japanese anime, which I personally found a bit disappointing.
There might also be mixed feelingsabout the concept being different from the previous work.
If the previous work focused on the protagonist becoming an investigator to interrogate suspects and solve cases,
this work has a concept of finding hidden treasures, so it feels a bit like solving puzzles,
which might not suit the tastes of users who liked the culprit-finding and case-solving aspects of the previous game.
The proportion of text has increased compared to the previous work.
Compared to the previous game, the proportion of storytelling has increased over mystery-solving, and the overall episodes feel like they are part of one big narrative arc,
so this might also be a hit-or-miss for those who don't particularly prefer visual novel elements.
So, is it worth playing?
Following the previous work, the satisfaction of the story and the enhanced visual elements made it even more fun to play.
The mystery-solving fun is still excellent and the plot twists are satisfying, so I'm even more looking forward to how the story of the Stepper universe will unfold in the future.
I highly recommend it to those who enjoyed the previous game or those who want to get lost in a vast universe with mystery elements.

I played a lot of Guilty Gear Strive today. In ranked, I’ve almost gotten Baiken up from silver 1 to gold 2 in a day. She’s a fun character to play as.

It's inconvenient because whenever the game launches, it forces itself into full-screen mode, changing the position and size of my Chrome or other windows...
Even if I change it to windowed mode, it launches in full-screen again the next day.
