After playing Lord Nine for two years at a combat power level above the average, I feel I can clearly explain why the game failed, so I'm writing this post.

1. Normalization of the Abnormal

Lord Nine launched while shouting about the 'normalization of the abnormal,' claiming their BM was just about avatars and that their game was normal.

But it was just another Lineage-like clone we've seen a thousand times, and they eventually got slammed for sneaking in artifacts, though it was just glossed over.

Meanwhile, they added patterns in hunting grounds and weekend world raids (Yama/Valon) that you'd expect to see in Lost Ark (even in a game with poor controls),

which only increased user frustration. It feels like the birth of a bizarre genre that mixes Lineage-like monetization with Lost Ark-style raids.

I wonder if that's what it is.

2. Excessive Server Consolidation

They reduced it to 3 servers, leaving only the big alliances, and crammed all the hunting grounds into the world, meaning there aren't even 100 spots for the Taego hunting grounds across 3 servers.

Whose idea was this? They even provide 24-hour experience rates in elite spawn areas that are equivalent to running a Rift of Corrosion while buffed with Orphe's Blessing.

Being locked in a cage is one thing, but they've shrunk the size of the cage and provide insufficient food to share. It makes me wonder if this game was even made in South Korea.

Working in an Aoji coal mine would probably be better than this, Hyo-jae.

With things in this state, only the obvious groups (e.g., OOB) are reaching level 120 in all masteries faster than anyone else.

Even if you treat the 'big shots' in the cage well, you should at least take care of the users who silently play the game while buying every package. This is just... we don't even have the right to hunt.

3. Meaningless Occupation Wars

Right now, occupation wars just line the pockets of big server alliances. Small and medium guilds get cut off when they apply, or if they lose and try to enter a plunder war, they can't do anything.

Even if you break a box in a plunder war, the diamonds don't go to the guild that broke it; they're just incinerated.

If the design is just 'join a big alliance' or 'go cause trouble if you lose,' what kind of ridiculous gameplay experience is that?

What game in the world makes you spend your money and time only for the reward to be breaking the opponent's diamonds and annoying them?

4. Marek's Headshot

With the Mythic Artifact Marek's Headshot, if your level is high enough due to level scaling, you can just throw the headshot skill and pick your nose while everything burns to death.

What kind of nonsense is it that the only counterplay is to strip naked, turn on a shield, and rush in like a moth to a flame?

Radiant Headshot? It's the same Mythic Artifact, but it's only used for breaking guild boss statues...

It's gotten to the point where people looking for accounts demand 'Marek Headshot' as a requirement, right?

If you can't balance it, just make an account yourself and try throwing a Marek Headshot.

5. Lord Knight

They call it 'Lord Knight,' but when they turn on a broadcast, they only invite low-tier BJs to listen to their opinions... You want to give out Awakening Stones in the Forest of Darkness?

I had to go into the game to check the name of the Forest of Darkness dungeon while writing this because I couldn't remember it.

Then what about the resistance I spent my own money to raise?

If you create a crappy dungeon that gives less than 2 million per mob and hand out Awakening Stones, it just becomes another chore where I lose experience.

Isn't that right? Even in this event dungeon, which comes out once a year for the summer season, my main character wasn't even getting 2 million per mob.

But is this a bug? My alt character was getting 3 million each.

6. Mastery Grinding

This is the first time in 24 years since the game 'N-Age,' which opened in 2002, that I've had to gather mobs and let them hit me to level up a skill like Dodge.

It's been 24 years.

They even stealth-patched it to block sword-and-shield flinging, so if you didn't get your mastery to 90, you can't even do it now.

It's been a year since they said they had no plans to release higher-level dungeons where mastery grinding is possible.

But they also blocked the flinging method on regular mobs, so there's no fairness to be found.

7. Gifting Coupons

When they give out coupons for big events, people who can gift them take them twice as if it's only natural...

They could just send the gifts via push notifications, but they're still doing it this way.

In the end, users who follow every package, spend money regularly, and are at an above-average level have nowhere to voice their opinions.

They're only worried about the server 'big shots' and how to let the gold farmers make their money.

The dissatisfaction of the actual users who are above the average level is bound to pile up.

That's why Lord Nine failed.
