I got up extra early today for today’s final. It’s not going to be difficult, since it’s just three writing questions we were made aware of beforehand. I’ll probably be done well before the allotted hour and fifty minutes are up.

UPDATE: I did it. It’s over. Didn’t take up the whole time and I gave good answers. This was the easy final. Now I need to get ready for the introduction to material science engineering final.

*This is a review from a beginner who has never played horror/mystery games before, so please read with caution.*

📌One-line summary: A decent game for horror game enthusiasts.

<The Kindergarten of Half-Half: The more fun the game is, the longer the nose gets. Ttwa's overall review>

Nose length: 3.0cm / 5.0cm

Despite being a complete scaredy-cat, the reason I started this game was because the clumsy monsters, which looked like they were made of clay by a child, blended well with the kindergarten atmosphere. It turns out it was already a well-known game, with millions of views on YouTube.

🎮 Controls & Puzzles: As an introductory game lighter than the homage work  'Poppy Playtime', Poppy requires complex movements with both hands, whereas this game uses drone control to press buttons, making it feel much simpler. The drone synchronization time can be a bit slow and boring, but the barrier to entry is low for beginners, so I didn't feel like 'this is too difficult'. However, for a beginner in escape rooms, the puzzles sometimes lacked intuitiveness, requiring frequent use of guides. Also, unlike the first game, the second game has repetitive mini-games, which made it  somewhat dull, a bit of a letdown.(Drone screenshot from Part 1)

👁Story & Horror Elements:

 *Spoiler Warning*

Instead of frequent jump scares, there are many scenes where the monsters leave traces as they pass by. Therefore, the psychological pressure when walking through dark spaces was much greater than when encountering the monsters. However, the yellow eyes of the pink bird (Ophila Bird), which appeared following the first game, were so scary that I turned off the game for a bit when it appeared.

🏁 Conclusion: While the charming character design and tension are excellent, from my perspective accustomed to AAA-level large-scale games, I gave it a 3.0 due to the somewhat unfriendly guidance for beginners, the slow drone controls, and the boredom from repetitive content.

🎯 Recommended for:

- Those who like grotesque and unique character designs

- Those whose taste is following the interesting stories unique to indie games

Not recommended for these people!

- Those who dislike the psychological pressure from dark spaces

Hello? This is Stove Crew's Kim Jun-woo (aka the curated game freak).

Today, I will be reviewing Storm Maid, a game featuring a protagonist who dreams the same dream as mine.

It might not be to your taste, but please overlook it for the sake of my dream!

I am including minor spoilers.

Overview

It begins with a very impure intention: the protagonist, who dreams of becoming a maid cafe owner, starts by looking for a job.

In an empty maid cafe, after being treated as a customer by a beautiful maid-chan, Jun-bung-kun somehow passes the test (called a tutorial) and becomes the manager...

However, our Bell-chan's maid cafe was worth 100,000 gold... (Should have signed a labor contract...)

However, the game begins with the protagonist steeling their resolve and working hard.

Gameplay

The game involves hiring maids with distinct personalities, stats, appearances, and backgrounds,

and when customers arrive, you assign them to a maid one-on-one to extract money. (One-on-one? Where is that? I'm going right now!

Customers also have preferences for the style or personality of the maid they want, and you can assign maids based on whether the customer is a maid cafe enthusiast or a beginner.

Additionally, various random mini-games occur like this, and succeeding grants greater rewards (As expected, maid cafes are about omurice~ Make it delicious~ Make it delicious~

New maids are usually obtained through maid recruitment, but you can acquire special maids through special events like this. (But screaming 'Kyaaaeek!' at someone's face is too much, suspicious girl... I almost quit the game.)

Pros

In fact, rather than the harem of beautiful girls I mentioned at first, the fun leans heavily towards the unique enjoyment of a management game. So, is it boring? Not at all.

It's packed with non-stop absurd jokes and numerous homages and parodies of games that game enthusiasts will recognize and find amusing, providing many laugh-out-loud moments.

Also, there's the fun of unlocking new maids and dressing them in new outfits (Bikini maid outfit for only 300,000 gold

There are also collaborations with various dating sims, and after finishing this game, I plan to play Secret Curriculum, so I might even buy the DLC...?

If you're interested, give it a look.

The idea of running a business game as a maid cafe seems excellent. I've encountered many games with a medieval tavern concept, but

A maid cafe... hehehe, it's indeed great...
There were so many mini-games that it was fun, but also a bit overwhelming.
As someone who enjoys dot-art games, it felt like I had a deep experience with the dot-art heroines, which was great. However, those who dislike dot-art should take note... I'll have to play again after finishing Secret Curriculum!

The overall score would be around 3.8 out of 5!

It was a fun, absurd dot-art game after a long time.

S3 - Inflicts resource reduction on the target by 100%. Attacks the enemy indiscriminately, fully increasing skill cooldowns, and increases Combat Readiness of all allies by 25%. Grants nullifier once to all allies. A critical hit will inflicting Seal to the target for 2 turn.

S2 - Grants increases Hit chance to the caster for 2 turns before using Larkspur

*** Fire Lidica is shine right now. Her ML version need her own niche so, Hit chance buff will make her better against evasion team that her  fire version can't. Still keep "critical hit" gimmick as bonus but still work without critical. Seal in S3 will shutdown both passive and active skills of the target.


< Architect Laika >

S3 - With everything going as planned, attacks all enemies, and when the enemy is defeated, inflicts extinction. When the target is not an Elite or Boss monster, ignores damage sharing. When the enemy is inflicted with target, penetrates Defense by 80% and increase Hit chance by 50%. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's Speed.

< Astromancer Elena >

S1 - Attacks the enemy with a punishing melody. When the target has a debuff, increases damage dealt and reduce skill cooldown by 1 turn.

S2 - At the start of battle, grants Star's Blessing for 1 turn. When the caster is granted Star's Blessing, enemy Heroes cannot counterattack. After an ally except for the caster uses an attack that targets all enemies, activates Worship Me!.

Worship Me! (gains 10 Soul): Increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 30%.

S3 (CD 6 turns : +1 turn) - Attacks all enemies with the energy of the enraged star, decreasing buff durations by 1 turn before making them unhealable and restricting for 2 turns. Grants Star's Blessing to the caster for 2 turns.


EE add (CRI +12%)

S2 - Grants Invincibility to the caster for 1 turn after using Worship Me!

*** Give her S2 more CR push to lower SPD and build more DMG. EE grants invincibility to protect herself and gimmick from her S3 RGB version.

S1 - Stabs the target a random number of times. Skill cooldown decreases by 1-3 turns and damage dealt increases according to the number of attacks. [DMG multiplier change : 0.7 / 1.4 / 2.1 to 1 / 1.55 / 2.1]


S2 - Increases Attack, Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Resistance by 30%. When the caster's Health is 50% or more, change Infinity Slash(S1) 1 hit to 2 hit attacks, and when the caster's Health is less than 50%, increases Defense by 30%.


*** Same job but better, less RNG for PVP queen. No weak 3 hits animation if HP > 50%.


< Chloe >

S1 - Hammers the enemy, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 15%. Damage dealt is increased when the enemy is inflicted with magic nail.


S2 - After granting increased Attack to the caster for 3 turns, attacks the enemy, inflicting magic nail for 3 turns, and increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 50%. Ignores Effect Resistance. When an enemy inflicting with magic nailed is killed, reset skill cooldown of this skill.


S3 - Soars into the air and attacks the enemy, stunning for 1 turn. Damage dealt is increased and ignores Effect Resistance when the enemy is inflicted with magic nail.

Soulburn (10 souls) Increases damage dealt. [decrease damage dealt]


Magic Nail: When attacked, inflicts additional damage proportional to the attacker's Attack. When defeated, inflicts extinction.


EE changed

S3 - Increases damage dealt by Hyper Strike by 20%. (no change)

S3 - Has a 85% > 100% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns when using Hyper Strike. When the target is inflicted with magic nail, ignores Effect Resistance.

S3 - Decrease skill cooldown of Hyper Strike by 1 turn

*** Now you can add her in PVP swift attack team, equip Sword of Blue Rose for souls then S2 > S3. Her soulburn damage lower a bit but exchange with less souls require and more damage from magic nail bonus add in S3. Magic nail also inflict extinction.

She can still do her PVE work. EE - DEF break now increase chance to 100% but no ignores RES, you can add her in imprint curcuit for no RNG.


< Basar >

S2 (non-attack)- Steals one buffs from the target, granting effect to all allies. Releasing a hot sand hurricane to all enemies, with a 75% chance each to decrease Hit Chance and Attack for 2 turns. Deals 1,500 fixed damage for each debuff inflicted on the target at the end of the turn.


S3 - Attacks all enemies with sand magic, dispelling all buffs, making them unable to be buffed and Stigma for 2 turns, before decreasing Combat Readiness by 30%. Deals 1,500 fixed damage for each debuff inflicted on the target at the end of the turn. When this skill is available according to cooldown count, at the end of an enemy's turn, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 20%.

S1 - Deals 1,500 fixed damage for each debuff inflicted on the target at the end of the turn

S2 - increase effects chance of this skill by 25%

S3 - When this skill is available according to cooldown count, grants 25% damage reduction

*** He is an RGB Sage Baal. He has ability to cut in and using his debuff to interrupt enemy's turn. 1500 Fixed damage per debuff is for sub damage and maybe some crazy build.

S1 - Strikes the enemy with a gun and grants stealth to the caster for 1 turn. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's Speed.


S3 - Swiftly cuts and shoots the enemy. When the enemy is not an Elite or Boss monster, damage sharing effects are ignored. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's Speed. Increase Hit chance of this skill by 100% and grants the caster skill nullifier once.

S3 - Grants the caster skill nullifier once after using Destructive Pursuit >> Increases damage dealt of Destructive Pursuit by 20%

*** His S3 is very outdated. Stealth and skill nullifier will help keep him alive and now he has duty to deal against evasion team


< Arunka >

S1 - Throws daggers at the enemy, with a 50% chance each to inflict two bleeding effects for 2 turns. A successful attack has a 50% chance to activate Expose as an extra attack. Expose can only be activated once per turn, during the caster's turn. When the caster is enraged, double the chance to activate Expose.

Expose: Attacks the enemy, and recovers Health of the caster. Amount recovered increases proportional to the caster's Attack.

Soulburn (10 souls) - increase the chance to inflict bleeding up to 100%. At the end of the turn, detonates bleeding effects inflicted on the target.


S2 - Attack increases by 30%. When attacking, cannot trigger a critical hit and increase Evasion by 50% against an enemy who is granted a barrier. At the end of an enemy's turn, when any enemy is granted a barrier, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 15%. At the start of the caster's turn, dispels stealth from all enemies who is granted a barrier. Ignores Effect Resistance.


S3 - Become Enrages for 3 turn before runs up to the enemy to attack. When the target is a Hero, ignores damage reduction. When the enemy is defeated, inflicts extinction and resets cooldown of this skill. Penetrates the target's Defense and when the target is granted a barrier, increases damage dealt.


*** She is so niche and hard to use so, once her condition met then make her OP. 100% DEF penetrate now make her can one shot anyone including Barunka even with ML Ilynav if the target isn't has crazy DEF, she can still one shot. Her S2, Wild Instinct now make her find any barrier target even with stealth and evasion against barrier enemy. Rage from S3 also increases her damage and less RNG S1.


< Ilynav >

S1 - Attacks the enemy with a spear, and inflicting injuries. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's max Health. The severity of injuries increases proportional to damage dealt. Injuries decrease max Health of the target by up to 10% every time this skill is used. When this skill is used, if it was not triggered by a Dual Attack, has a 50% chance to use Punish instead of Rush and double the chance if using in the caster's turn with Critical Hit Damage or Immunity is granted. This skill does not trigger a Dual Attack.


S3 - Attacks all enemies mercilessly, inflicting up to 20% injuries. Grants increased Critical Hit Damage to all allies for 2 turns, and grants immunity to the caster for 2 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster's max Health. When this skill is unavailable due to cooldown count, after an ally except for the caster is attacked, has a 20% chance to counterattack.


*** Fire Choux, also her S1 with out Punish activated is so bad. So no RNG if using in caster's turn if CDMG or Immunity granted and add injury effect to S1 normal attack (Rush).


< Kawerik >

S2 - Attacks the enemy in a dimensional corridor, with a 100% chance each to dispel two buffs before increasing skill cooldowns by 1 turn twice. Grants stealth, increased Speed and a barrier (proportional to the caster's Attack) to the caster for 2 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the target's Speed.


EE changed

S3 - Decreases Hit Chance for 1 turn when using Dimensional Explosion. >> Increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 50% when using Dimensional Explosion.

*** Add barrier to his S2 ti protect himself. His S2 is similar to Kise S3 but change 50% CR to SPD buff. The EE S3 - CR+50% will make him possible to use in swift team like Amid S3 > Kawerik S3 + S2


< Kane >

S1 (Acquire 15 Fighting Spirit) - Attacks the enemy with a hammer, and increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 15%. When the caster is enraged, activates Rock Smash as an extra attack. Rock Smash can only be activated once per turn, during the caster’s turn.

Rock Smash: Attacks all enemies by slamming the ground, and inflicts bleeding for 2 turns. Ignores Effect Resistance.


S2 - At the start of the first battle, gains 50 Fighting Spirit. Upon receiving lethal damage, grants immortality and vampirism for 1 turn and resets skill cooldown of Feast of Predation. Can be only activated once every 6 turns. At the end of an ally's turn, if the enemy has a debuff, gains 10 Fighting Spirit and increaes Combat Readiness of the caster by 10%. When Fighting Spirit is full, consumes all Fighting Spirit to make the caster enraged for 2 turns and dispel one buff from all enemies. Ignores Effect Resistance. When the caster is enraged, increases bleeding damage suffered by enemies by 30%.


S3 - Attacks the enemy by unleashing their power, and grants increased Attack (Greater) to the caster for 2 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the number of debuffs inflicted on the target. [no change but you surely forget his skill]


EE add (ATK +14%)

S1 - Damage dealt of Hammer Time increases by 20%

S2 - When enemy suffering damage from bleeding, recover health proportional to the bleeding damage.

S3 - Inflicts two bleeding to the target for 1 turn before using Feast of Predation. Ignores Effect Resistance of any targets with Attack lower than the caster's Attack.

*** The worst hero of Epic 7, use in one season of Rift and gone. He is still hard to use I think. +50 Fighting spirit at the start of battle make him easier to become Enrage. His 10% CR increase is low but no cooldown restrict like Jack-O and Yufine for longer fight. He is now bleed spashing machine. Maybe build him less ATK but more HP & DEF to keep him alive ,also 2nd EE can help a bit.
