The game was advertised as a cosmic horror game and has a mixed cast of characters, a lot of the "target audience" quit due to the owen drama with the the only people left are those who actually play the game for the gameplay.
Japan and NA are carrying the game's revenue and the biggest gachas in the market have a mixed cast
The content creators that asked that question to the devs got it from community feedback

that's the neat part I don't think a diverse cast is bad, I'd even argue a diverse cast makes the world feel more alive having every girl simp and fall for the captain feels weird ( I can't believe there are actual humans playing this game and get mad if an 2d character doesn't fall in love with the captain xD ) I love the game for the gameplay and I really loved how they started the game with a nice diverse cast with Hugo and Cassius and Luke, Lucas and Renoa etc. I hope they can find their way back again to the more horror more diverse characters. If the do I'll play this game for years to come. And even if they don't I still enjoy playing this game every single day.
I think they still dont know what to do with the game. When E7 was launch it was supposed to be that type of game if a lot of hot girls like Nikki is, but they fall apart and the game is what is now a days. CZN is another try of SG to enter in this market that have a lot of potencial and a good public, but the problem is, who plays the games of SG was not the public that they want to achive with CZN, a lot of people come from E7 and their other games and get frustated with a good reason. The game can be a lot better and is become better and better with the time. But i fear that is become a game not for us, like Nikki where you have skins of the girls total naked.
The official slogan for E7 is "Play Anime." It has a great story, and not a single girl tries to spread her legs for the main character the first time they meet. And there are a huge number of beautiful girls. And it came out long before Nikke and BD2. It's a very old game, but it's still pretty much afloat.Another example: Lost Sword. Although it has different gameplay, it's stylistically similar to E7. It's practically a copy. Initially, it was aimed exclusively at Gooners. A year later, it's almost dead. Gooners turned out to be low-paying. Almost all the characters in it are busty, half-naked girls. Just like in SZN now.
They are just rage baiting, the game is incredible and only gets better. The fact that they say if even just one male would be Realist they want to quit the game is just unbelievable. They don't play the game properly. Even so, I also like this art style. I do love my wife, but I also would love some badass twinks or robots or furry characters that are male. I just love the world building and really see the potential.
