플레이 도중에, 그리고 게임을 마치고 느낀 감정입니다.
서사적 특성상 편안하기만 한 플레이 경험은 아니었습니다.
전작에서는 이명진이란 빌런만 조심하면 됐었는데, 이번에는 연희의 병과 마찬가지로 통제할 수 없고 예측불허한 NMG부작용이 메인 갈등이었습니다.
따라서 플레이하는 내내 언제 연희 혹은 주인공이 잘못될지, 그리고 둘 사이가 멀어지면 어떡하지와 같은 팽팽한 긴장감이 느껴져 힘들었습니다.
하지만 이미 좋은 결말로 끝나기 어려웠던 전작이 시작점이었기에, 이 흐름이 더 설득력있고 자연스러웠습니다.
또 서로가 서로를 위해 (항상 옳은 방법은 아니었을지라도)희생하고 고민하고 아파하며 끝끝내 도달한 결말이기에 가슴에 더 깊은 울림과 흔적을 남겼구요.
<신명훈 1>
이번 편은 주인공을 위한 스토리라고 느껴졌습니다.
전편에서 레코드 가게가 연희를 위한 공간이었다면, 이번편에서는 주인공을 위해 만화방이라는 공간이 주어졌으니까요.
<아이러니1: 대비>
연희와 명훈, 바다와 산, 노래와 만화.
그리고 삶과 죽음.
서로를 생각하고 위해주지만 오히려 상처가 되는 대비와 아이러니함이 마음 아팠습니다.
<아이러니2: 사랑>
사랑하는 사람을 위해 그 정도의 고통을 감내하는 주인공이, 또 떠나간 그 사람 때문에 망가진 주인공의 모습을 보며 사랑은 미친 짓이라는 생각이 들었습니다.
사랑 때문에 어떤 일이든 할 수 있게 되지만, 또 사랑 때문에 누구보다 깊은 곳으로 가라앉기도 하니까요.
<아이러니3: 너를 위해>
주인공은 어느새 자신이 싫어하던 행동을 연희에게 하고 있었네요.
<꿈>
좋아하는 꿈을 묻어두고 깊은 바다에 잠기러 온 주인공, 연희라는 사랑하는 사람과 함께 다시금 살아가게 된 만경도의서의 일.
2년이 지난 지금에서야 축축하게 젖은 장작 깊은 곳 남아있는 불씨를 발견했네요.
만화를 그리는 것, 창작에 대한 고뇌와 힘듦, 그럼에도 그걸 놓지 않으려는 이유는 바로 그것이 살아가는 힘이니까.
그걸 깨닫는 순간-
끝없이 펼쳐진 이 어딘가
헤매이는 나를 찾아와
함께라며 손 내민 네 모습 보였기에

엔딩곡을 들으며 여운을 즐겼습니다.
52hz의 가사가 이번 애프터 스토리에서는 연희가 아닌 주인공에게 대입되는 게 좋았습니다.
저는 개인적으로 비주얼 노벨에 OST, 보컬곡이 있는 걸 좋아합니다.
특히 게임의 서사와 직결되는 가사라면 더욱이요. 게임을 하며 느낀 다양한 감정들이 자연스레 되살아나거든요.
의미와 감정이 함축된 노래는 언제 어디서든 내게 감동을 준 그때 그곳으로 데려다주기 때문에, 52hz란 곡은 연희가 아끼는 워크맨처럼 소중하게 느껴지더라구요.
애프터 스토리를 마치고 CG를 하나하나 다시 봤습니다.
연희도 명훈이도 참... 고생이 많았네요.
앞으로는 행복한 일만 있었으면 좋겠습니다.
설령 힘든 순간이 오더라도 두 고래는 서로 걸음을 맞추며 걸어 나가겠죠.

'이 짙은 아픔을 건너 그대와 함께'
이 엔딩에 도달하기 위해서 얼마나 많은 생각과 고민을 했을까. 주인공이 만화를 그렸던 것처럼 몇 번을 지우고 다시 만들었을까.
그렇게 도달한 이 결말은 얼마나 값진가. 이 장면이 세상에 나오기까지 쌓이고 모인 사람들의 마음이 너무 소중하게 느껴졌습니다.
사람들의 마음에 깊은 물결을 남겨준 52hz란 게임.
이제는 그 물결이 모이고 파도가 되어 이 결말까지 바래다 주었다고 생각합니다.
