스포는 제가 생각하기에 최소한으로 작성하였습니다.
- 들어가기 전에 -
미연시 경험이 전무하던 저에게 구름별 게임즈의 이전 작품 '프렌치 커넥션' 은 많이 여운이 남았습니다.
훌륭한 이야기 개연성, 등장 인물들의 자세한 감정 묘사와 이에 어울리는 OST 선정, 그리고 몹시 맛있는 컷씬 까지. 소설을 보던 영화를 보던 크게 감정 이입을 하는 편이 아니지만, 주인공이 처한 '어쩔 수 없었던 상황'과 이에 상처 받는 두 히로인을 보니 가슴이 아팠습니다. 본편의 크리스마스 이벤트 때는 침 질질 흘리고 좋다고 보다가 아라한테 따귀 맞고서 눈물 흘린 건 비밀.
아무튼, 제 첫 미연시가 '프렌치 커넥션' 이였다면 두 번째로 클리어를 하는 것은 '후즈 마이 마니또' 가 되었습니다. 전작이 상당히 잘 뽑혀서 두 번째 게임 또한 구름별 작품이네요.
1. 컷씬과 SD 일러에 대하여.
컷씬 대부분이 상당히 마음에 들었습니다. 프렌치 커넥션의 일러스트를 담당하기도 하셨던 1_Yun 님 만의 스토리 컷씬은 감성, 분위기 적인 면에서 타 작품과 비할 데가 없다는 생각이 들었습니다. 도은이가 무지막지하게 이뻤습니다. 수연이가 정말 설레었습니다.
SD 일러 또한 제 취향을 저격했습니다. 문자 메신저에서 나오는 아이들의 이모티콘이 너무나 귀여웠습니다. 너무 귀여워서 깨물어주고 싶을 정도로요. SD 컷씬은 말할 것도 없습니다. SD 특유의 빵-떡한 분위기가 너무나 잘 살아있습니다. 너무나 귀엽습니다. 선 공개된 도은이 파스타 SD 씬을 보고 나서 게임이 나오기도 전에 도은이로 노선을 탔을 정도입니다.

2. 스토리와 그 관련 요소에 대하여.
전작이 프렌치 커넥션 답게, 스토리는 상당히 좋습니다. 프렌치 커넥션은 만회 할 수 없는 선택의 기로에 선 주인공의 모습이 씁쓸하게 여겨져 씁쓸한 여운이 남았다면, 본작에선 그 씁쓸한 맛이 등장인물 쪽으로 가 있습니다. 이는 제가 느끼기에 공감과 위로를 위한 수단이며, 추후 더 마음이 가는 등장인물로의 노선이 결정되는 요소이기도 한 것 같습니다. 이로 인해 시시각각 변하는 등장인물들의 감정 선은 본 스토리의 주제이자 백미가 됩니다.
저로 말씀드릴 것 같으면 도은이에서 수연이로 살짝 신념이 흔들리긴 했지만 최종적으로 도은이가 조금 더 공감이 갔습니다.
그리고 후마마를 하다가 무언가 반가운 요소를 발견할 수 있을 것입니다. 작 중 교양 과목의 교수님의 목소리가 '전작의 누군가' 의 목소리와 매우 일치하여 상당히 의아해 하였지만, 스토리 진도를 꽤 밀고 나서 그 이유를 깨달았습니다. 프렌치 커넥션을 이전에 플레이 하셨던 여러분이라면, 이에 상당한 반가움을 느끼실 것이라고 전 확신합니다.
아무튼, 스토리를 초콜릿으로 비유한다면 밀크 초콜릿의 이가 썩어버릴 만 한 달콤함과 다크 초콜릿의 은은한 쓴 맛이 조화를 이룬다고 볼 수 있을 것 같습니다.
3. 총평
프렌치 커넥션의 씁쓸한 여운이 너무 아프셨나요? 압도적인 달콤함과 약간의 씁쓸함이 만드는 조화가 궁금하신가요? 아니면 엄청난 매력을 가진 두 히로인 끼리 하는 미친 막상막하의 줄다리기가 보고 싶으신가요? 후즈 마이 마니또를 추천합니다. 스토리 자체로는 흠 잡을 데가 없다고 생각합니다. 저도 구름별 게임즈의 이름값 때문에 플레이 한 경향이 없지 않아 있지만, 굳이 그 것 때문이 아니더라도 충분히 가치 있는 게임이라고 생각합니다. 게임 자체로 훌륭하다고 생각합니다.
그래서 프렌치 커넥션 점장님 루트는 언제 볼 수 있는 걸까요?
정말 만족스러운 작품 이였습니다, 할인가 16110원이 전혀 아깝지 않았습니다. 7시간 하고도 30분에 달하는 플레이 타임이 정말 값졌습니다. 앞으로의 구름별 게임즈의 행보를 응원합니다!
