I finally finished upgrading all the Zero System nodes, and I must say it wasn't easy. Even though they distributed 1000 Memory of Lights, farming these two new currencies is RIDICULOUS. The Chaos Architect, for example, in the last nodes, unlocks increased currency gain both inside and outside of Chaos, which makes a tremendous difference! Besides the changes to the Epiphany cards in the resting areas, or the duplicate cards after defeating a boss, which at the beginning of the season simply ruins 99% of your runs because it's not unlocked right away.

I hope in the next season they change this, because idk if i and others players will continue doing that.

Story

The precarious journey of the protagonist and Yeon-hee, which began in Mangyeong-do, a suicide spot, still stood before the huge wall of a time limit even at the end of the main story. This after story, which started with that stuffiness, didn't simply end like a fairy tale of living happily ever after, but very tragically depicted the price that had to be paid to protect life.

If the ending of the main story was an incomplete hope that stopped in the face of the reality of a time limit, this DLC complemented the ending of the main story and was ultimately the process of achieving a dream.

What determined the flow of this after story was the protagonist's choice to save Yeon-hee through self-sacrifice. Extracting his bone marrow cells and enduring nerve abnormalities and side effects caused Yeon-hee to leave, and eventually led himself to systemic shock.
The scene of falling into a coma and facing the inner child is, I think, a scene where the protagonist confronts the past as an aspiring cartoonist that he had been avoiding. Although the way to save Yeon-hee was desperate and precarious, the message of reconciliation with myself, which I finally faced at the end of the process, came to me without being forced.
Directing
The most shocking directing in this DLC was the directing that depicted the protagonist's nerve damage. The directing in which the BGM bizarrely broke and mixed with noise every time the protagonist's memory was cut off, or the directing in which the scene switched as if it were cut off because he couldn't remember what happened just before, clearly transferred the fear that the protagonist was going to ruin to me, the player. The depiction of pain during surgery also reached its peak with explicit expressions, and I felt a tension close to gore.

But paradoxically, because of the devastated developments before that, the catharsis I felt in the scene of reuniting with Yeon-hee was more valuable and intense than any other work.
Character
I can't help but talk about the characters, and personally, the most impressive character in this DLC was the doctor. While most visual novels take a flat character structure with clear lines between good and evil, the doctor character in After Story was very three-dimensional.
It was impressive because it showed both the dangerous appearance of proposing an experiment even while breaking ethical taboos for money, and on the other hand, the desire to save the protagonist and Yeon-hee, who are ultimately patients, adding to the character's reality.
In particular, thanks to the voice actor's calm yet heavy acting, the presence of this character shone even more.
Visual
Visual satisfaction is more important than anything else in a visual novel, and I thought the CG quality was really good while playing the main story, but this DLC showed even more advanced visuals than the main story. The depiction of the character's expression has become more delicate, and I think the use of light and harmony with the background has become much better. In particular, I was satisfied with Yeon-hee's visuals to the point that I thought she was getting prettier throughout the play, and the CG in the highlight scene conveyed the emotion without a single line.
Ending
In the end, the ending of continuing the lives of the two people by using each other's cells may mean that people with wounds healed each other. If the main story was about the 52Hz whales finally meeting an existence that would accept their own frequency, the after story depicts the process of those whales becoming each other's sea, leaving a lingering feeling that will not be forgotten for a long time.
Thanks to the touching story and high-quality illustrations, I really enjoyed playing it and it remains a good memory.
