스마일게이트는 자사가 서비스하고 슈퍼크리에이티브에서 개발한 다크 판타지 로그라이크 RPG(역할수행게임) ‘카오스 제로 나이트메어(이하 카제나)’에 신규 콘텐츠 ‘절규의 나선탑’과 신규 전투원 ‘나르쟈’ 등을 업데이트했다고 15일(목) 밝혔다.
이번에 50층까지 선보인 ‘절규의 나선탑’은 베타 버전으로, 이용자는 전투원 3인을 편성해 보유 중인 세이브 데이터를 활용해 각 층에서 전투를 진행하게 된다. 매 층을 클리어하면 크리스탈을 비롯해 전투 메모리와 전술 인증서 및 성장 아이템 등 다양한 보상을 획득할 수 있다.
절규의 나선탑 업데이트와 함께 신규 전투원 ‘나르쟈’와 파트너 ‘가야’도 추가됐다. 나르쟈는 본능 속성의 컨트롤러 전투원으로, 전용 버프를 활용해 체력을 회복하고 피해량을 강화하는 역할을 수행한다. 파트너 가야는 담당 전투원의 방어력을 기반으로 피해 효율을 끌어올리는 특성을 지니고 있어, 전투 조합의 전략적 선택지를 확장한다. 이와 함께 나르쟈의 트라우마 코드가 새롭게 추가됐으며, 기존 전투원 ‘루크’의 트라우마 코드도 함께 업데이트됐다.
신규 콘텐츠와 연계한 다양한 이벤트도 순차적으로 진행된다. 오는 28일부터 내달 11일까지 열리는 ‘방주의 수호자’ 이벤트에서는 방주도시에서 실행한 정책 횟수에 따라 보상을 획득할 수 있으며, 미션 달성 단계에 따라 크리스탈이 지급된다.
내달 25일까지 진행되는 ‘긴급 구출 프로토콜’ 이벤트에서는 7일 출석을 통해 구출 앵커 등 보상을, 이달 21일까지는 ‘오버드라이브 – 시뮬레이션’ 이벤트를 통해 시뮬레이션 콘텐츠 보상을 하루 최대 6회까지 2배로 획득할 수 있다. 이와 별도로 내달 4일까지는 신규 전투원 나르쟈의 트라우마 코드를 중심으로 기간 한정 이벤트가 진행돼, 이벤트 전투를 통해 한정 보상을 제공한다.
이용자 편의성을 높이기 위한 시스템 개선도 함께 이뤄졌다. 스토리를 첫 감상할 때에도 선택적으로 건너뛸 수 있도록 건너뛰기 기능이 추가됐으며, 시뮬레이션 웨이브 시스템은 기존 전투 횟수 선택 방식에서 보상 배율을 직접 선택하는 구조로 개편됐다. 여기에 카오스 웨이포인트에서도 전리품 정산이 가능하도록 개선돼, 카오스 보스 클리어 외에도 보상을 획득할 수 있다. 아미르와 나르쟈의 전투원 특전 로비가 새롭게 추가됐고, 기억의 조각 관련 UI와 UX 전반도 보다 직관적으로 개선됐다.
스마일게이트 김주형 사업실장은 “이용자들이 직접 체감할 수 있는 도전 콘텐츠와 시스템 개선을 통해 카제나만의 플레이 재미를 더욱 선명하게 다듬었다”며 “피드백을 토대로 완성도 제고에 집중하겠다”고 말했다.
