리듬 닥터는 소위 '얼불춤'이라 불리는 리듬 게임 불과 얼음의 춤(A Dance of Ice and Fire)의 개발사 7th Beat Games의 차기작으로, 심장 박동 교정을 통해 환자를 치료한다는 독특한 발상을 내세운 이색적인 리듬 게임이다. 다양한 음악 장르를 아우르는 고퀄리티의 음악은 한 치 부족함이 보이지 않을 만큼 완벽에 가깝고, 리듬과 박자에 충실한 레벨 디자인과 한 편의 뮤지컬 드라마를 보는 듯한 스토리텔링으로 그 매력을 어필하는 게임이다. 무려 4년 10개월에 달하는 기나긴 얼리 액세스 기간을 거친 게임이며, 전작인 '얼불춤'과 더불어 리듬 천국(Rhythm Heaven) 시리즈와도 어느 정도 유사한 면이 있다.
기본 박자에 충실한 음악 연주와 더불어 화면을 뒤흔드는 연출로 플레이어를 압도하는 게임이다. 특히 화면을 가리거나 흔드는 등의 강렬한 연출은 플레이어가 계산하고 있는 박자에 혼란을 가중시켜 체감 난이도를 높이는 한편 화면에 나타난 캐릭터의 사연과 심리 변화를 효과적으로 드러낸다. 다시 말해 강렬한 장면의 변화가 리듬 게임이라는 게임플레이 요소와 스토리텔링이라는 서사의 요소를 동시에 충족시키는 셈이다. 여기에 병원에 있는 환자와 의사의 절절한 사연을 담은 스토리는 화려한 연출이 더해 마치 뮤지컬 드라마를 보는 듯한 완성도를 자랑한다. 뿐만 아니라 각종 미니 게임과 다른 리듬 게임과의 여러 콜라보, 그리고 레벨 에디터로 컨텐츠의 볼륨에 있어서도 상당히 충실한 모습을 보인다. 리듬 게임이라는 장르에 있어 교과서와도 같은 웰메이드 게임으로 강력히 추천한다.

스케이트 스토리는 달을 삼키기 위해 사탄과 거래를 한 스케이트 악마의 추상적이면서도 초월적인 여정을 담은 내러티브 어드벤처 게임이다. 어두우면서도 영롱한 분위기를 한껏 드러내는 비주얼과 사이키델릭풍의 몽환적인 배경음악, 그리고 한 편의 문학 작품을 보는 듯한 스토리로 예술성을 한껏 드러낸다. 스케이트보드를 소재로 한 게임인데, 높이 날아올라 화려한 트릭으로 점수를 획득하는 기존의 스케이트보드 게임과는 다소 다른 결을 보이는 게임이다. 기본적인 트릭은 전부 구현돼있지만, 트릭을 통한 콤보 적립 및 점수 획득보다는 스케이트보드를 타고 빠르게 질주하거나 적에게 데미지를 입히는 등, 기초적인 게임 플레이에 초점을 맞춘 모습이다. 물론 특유의 예술적인 연출이 어우러진 덕분에 질주와 전투의 재미는 출중하다.
