Hecate is a recently released, 5 Star Forest elemental unit that's good against unit that utilize Immortality buff and revive effects. But the recent nerf to this hero, before it was even released, Made me question how the game team balance their team.
Before i go further into this, let's see at what she is good and not good against.
1- Immortality
As mentioned before, This unit completely shut down any immortality/Revive effect on the enemy team. But it also affects your team, Restricting your team composition. Note that, This "Effects all Heroes" passive was added, before she was even released to the players. Before this, Hecate Passive effect only affects enemy team.
2- Bruiser?
Hecate Passive effect allows her to ignore defense and damage sharing effect, Making Tanky enemy unit more bearable. But she also dishes little to no damage, unless her Skill 3 is ready.
3- Debuff heavy team is a no no!
Aside from having high HP stat, and (easy to build?)
She have little to none resistance to debuff.
Thankfully, She's not HP scaling damage dealer, so venom won't affect her.
Considering Hecate is a 5 star limited heroes, with skill so underwhelming, and many restrictions, i suggest you think twice before pulling her.
Yes, The anti immortality effect is amazing, But it also affects you, Like a double edged sword.
You have better luck using Briar witch Iseria, which also affects your team, But still allows you to hold immortality buff.
Now, The question here, Is hecate overpowered before she is nerfed? In my opinion, She's Actually a well built unit for this current meta. But one change, made her good, To average. If the game were to continue like this, it would make all players doubt the game directions itself.
Hecate before the nerf wouldn’t have fixed the current meta, she would’ve made it 10 times worse. You’re advocating for a hero that literally says “immortality and revives for me but none for thee.” In a meta that revolves around immortality and revives. If you picked old Hecate on 3 against a turn 2 player they literally don’t get to play the game. There is no counterplay. You just don’t get to play the game, while your opponent does, just because they picked Hecate before you did.
