Chaos is an unknown substance that brings universal chaos and destruction. It acts as a living catastrophe, rapidly consuming planets and star systems, like a cancerous tumor that grows and spreads across the Star. On Earth, its manifestation began with the "Black Shroud" - a black fog that was able to bypass any protective systems and completely devastate the world in just 36 hours.
Planets affected by Chaos undergo irreversible changes. Their ecosystems are deformed, and the environment becomes alien and hostile. But the most terrible thing is the impact on intelligent life. A long stay in an infected zone leads to mental decay, turning people and other creatures into monsters.
Because of Chaos, humanity lost Earth and many other worlds. The survivors were forced to wander forever on giant ships - Arks. Thus began a new era - the era of the Arks civilization, where people no longer have a home, only endless space and the memory of lost worlds.
A century after the disaster, hope has emerged. The Chaos Zero Project is humanity's attempt to fight back. With the help of new technologies, people have learned to penetrate the infected zones, find the source of Chaos and destroy it. This is the last chance to return what was lost and put an end to the era of flight.
