I bought a 5060ti to review games, but I can only play dot games.

Okay, let’s get started with the review!

🎮 Basic Information 🎮

It is a metroidvania action genre.

All the maps are connected as one

It has a unique structure that feels like an open world.

🤖 A spoonful of robots in dystopia 🤖

The human world has long since been destroyed by war with robots,

The main characters are robots who survive tenaciously on the ruins.

The main character, Alma, starts off with no memory , but

I tried a few new things with the video, so it ended up being a bit long.

1. Flower Dungeon, what kind of game is it?

[Flower Dungeon] is a rogue-lite RPG where you explore dungeons with your favorite character among the pretty older sisters.

The premise is roughly as follows: 'I gathered mercenaries to protect my territory from dungeons, and they're all pretty.'

Players explore the dungeon to farm stats and items.

You must use your enhanced power to defeat the enemies lurking in the dungeon.

For this?

Power that increases attack power and HP

Agility that increases attack speed and defense

Skill damage and maximum magic power intelligence

Appropriately utilize each character's strengths and develop a growth route that matches them... %^%#^

Actually, you don't need all of them.

Do you see the character selection screen with all the pretty older sisters gathered together?

Choose the character your heart desires and enter the dungeon.

You can play the game worrying about the tech tree later.

Go through dungeons with your favorite character, become stronger, and defeat enemies.

If you die? Like a rogue-lite, you get unlock points and try again.

Just knowing this is enough to enjoy the game.

2. Is this game fun?

"Illustrations that capture both quantity and quality"

In this game, each and every minor character has their own unique illustration.

Questions like "How did you draw all this?" are not important.

It's important that there are a lot of illustrations featuring pretty older sisters.

The illustrations are so rich that just looking at them makes the game more fun.

Playable characters also have separate illustrations for each expression and status.

All characters that appear in various places, such as colleagues, enemies, and event NPCs, have illustrations.

I think this is the best advantage of this kind of 'heart-pounding game'.

"Various random events"

Usually, in games like this, you will see all the random events after just a few rounds.

So the more you play, the less randomness there is in the rogue-lite.

Why? Because if you memorize all the results, you can predict them.

But [Flower Dungeon] has really... diverse random events.

There are a ton of maps, and each map has its own unique event.

So, the situation of 'seeing an event from a lower floor again from a higher floor' does not occur.

You could say that the 'time to anticipate an event' is longer than in other rogue-lites.

Even if you play the game quite a bit, there will be a lot of events you don't know about.

"A ton of farming elements and tech tree types"

There are also many farming elements, so it's fun to try out different tech trees.

There are so many factors that affect battles, from the equipment shown in the image to faith, enchantments, stats, and companions.

Most tech trees show very high destructive power once completed.

You can aim to clear the level by deciding on the concept and course of action according to your taste.

Isn't the main fun of these rogue-lite games the concept?

There are many different concepts possible, such as the critical hit tree and the One Punch Man tree, as well as various tech trees.

"The fun of controlling the speed"

You may be wondering what this means, but when you turn on triple speed, the game becomes truly astral.

This is why I wrote at the top that this is a game that challenges Koreans.

When exploring the map, you may be going too fast to take the side path,

There are also instances where traps are recklessly stepped on.

The same goes for combat.

It is much more dangerous because it becomes difficult to deal with a situation where blood is quickly shed.

Then what is good?

It's fast.

You can enjoy the thrill of playing games at incredible speed.

You'll understand if you just turn on Flower Dungeon and play it at 3x speed.

If you're Korean, you can't stand this.

3. Are there any regrets?

The downsides are as clear as the advantages.

Perhaps because it was early in its release, the shortcomings were more apparent.

"The game structure feels repetitive"

If you play the game for a long time, it feels like you're just repeating 'exploration - combat'.

Of course, this is the fate of rogue-lite games.

However, [Flower Dungeon] is a bit more extreme.

There are too many maps, so the enemies slowly get stronger,

There is no 'change' felt in combat due to other regrets that will be described later.

If you keep repeating farming, you will get tired.

So as the play time piled up, I felt like I was just repeating two actions.

"The battle doesn't require any special strategy"

There is nothing special about the enemy's pattern.

Just keep attacking, a big attack will come and it's over.

So there's not really anything for the player to deal with.

In other words, there is no combat beyond 'giving and receiving' attacks.

What the player does is 'hit hard' and 'hit harder'.

What the enemy does isn't much different from what the player does.

So, I often felt that the combat was monotonous during gameplay.

"It is difficult to feel the results of farming"

This is a regret that is directly related to what was written above.

Because the battles are simple, everything in this game is about 'farming for battles'.

The results of that farming are not very apparent in combat.

It's difficult to feel anything more than just increased damage and defense.

I don't see any changes in play style or effects.

Roguelite is a genre where the dopamine rush you get when you complete the tech tree is really important, so it was disappointing that there was less of that.

"It's a pretty long game"

As I mentioned above, there are really, really many maps.

There were so many people playing that it was tiring.

Especially since farming mostly ends in the middle stages?

This game is difficult to complete by farming, but once you complete it, you can keep pushing.

But it was a bit difficult because the map was just pushed back without any additional farming.

I wish they had laid out the map so that it could be played in two sections instead.

It was so long that it wasn't easy to recognize it as 'one game'.

4. Are there any points that people may or may not like?

Rather than having clear advantages or disadvantages,

I have collected the parts that people may or may not like.

"Not an easy level of difficulty"

This game is not an easy game.

If you farm all the tech trees you are aiming for, the difficulty level drops drastically.

It's hell until all the farming is done.

Maybe my research is lacking,

That might be because I never use the 'easy' difficulty setting.

At least the set of characters I played (Rivo, Sylvie, and Fenia) weren't easy.

As you progress to the latter half of the game, the boss' HP and attack power become extremely strong, so you won't be able to survive without completing the tech tree.

Of course, it was also a challenge.

There is definitely a certain fun to be had by farming and clearing the tech tree.

Still, I thought it was a point that people would either like or dislike depending on their gaming style.

"High luck factor"

This is the true flavor of the roguelike/roguelite genre.

[Flower Dungeon] also captured this flavor really well.

How does farming depend on luck?

If you let your guard down and farm with an intelligence character, you will be forced to change your character to a strength mage.

Then, you can defeat the monster with your own staff.

The dopamine rush from collecting Exodia to clear the game is certain.

However, I would like to say that the path is quite difficult due to the high luck factor.

5. Overall Review

As I said, it's a game with clear shortcomings.

But? Thanks to the developer's constant updates, any shortcomings are being fixed in real time.

I don't know when the developer will fix the regrettable points I mentioned.

Also, all else aside, it's definitely a game that's above average as a roguelite.

This is a case where it is well-made, but the shortcomings stand out like a blemish on the jade.

The price isn't that expensive, so it's a good way to kill time.

Above all, the various illustrations you see while playing the game are really pretty.

[Flower Dungeon], isn't it a 'game that touches the heart'?

Since I am reviewing it as a crew, I looked into it in detail.

In my mind, the illustrations alone more than covered up all the shortcomings.

The gameplay is good, and can my older sisters watch it without any worries?

There is absolutely no reason not to do it.

A game that lets you enjoy exploring dungeons with your sisters.

A game with all the little fun of a rogue-lite

💎 First impressions of the game

Do you often buy games from the Stove Store?

I still buy them often. I usually buy games in the 10,000 to 30,000 won price range with a discount.

In fact, the genre that Stove mainly focuses on is usually called bishoujo dating simulation, or MIYEONSHI.

They provide a lot of support to developers, and they often come out as Stove Only.

But I still try to buy games from other genres whenever possible .

Even though the Stove Store has a wide variety of games, it's not uncommon for them to go unnoticed.

(Actually, it may just be me who thinks this way... but it's sad to see that there aren't many reviews.)

So I had quite high expectations for the game I'm reviewing today.

This is because it is a game that has received high ratings not only on Stove but also on domestic and international gaming webzines.

So, starting with this game, I expected that various AAA level games would enter the Stove as well.

And that anticipation looks set to continue for some time.

The game I'm reviewing today is a masterpiece RPG game made in France, <Claire Obscure: Expedition 33> .

⌚ Gameplay

『 Artistry and immersion in the optimal ratio 』

<I had forgotten for a moment, but France is a country famous for revolutionary art>

Actually, I didn't pay much attention to this game until it was released.

The term "responsive turn-based combat" as described on the store page didn't really make a difference.

First of all, I prefer the so-called 'animation-style' subcultural design rather than photorealistic graphics.

So, to be honest, I wasn't really drawn to the design that showed off a French artistic sensibility.

<If you think about it, the combination of "real-time action" and "turn-based" are quite contradictory concepts>

But there were a few catchy catchphrases on the game's store page.

It was explained that despite being a JRPG-style turn-based RPG, the real-time action enhances the fun of turn-based battles .

If you've enjoyed traditional turn-based RPGs, this explanation might seem quite foreign to you.

It's turn-based, but there are real-time elements? You might think, "Isn't this just a side system added for promotional purposes?"

Of course, it is quite difficult to mix these combinations well.

But, this game makes it that difficult. And it does it in a pretty tasty way.

This part related to this combination is a pretty important point, so let's talk about it in a little more detail later.

<The difference in graphics between in-game and cinematic is barely noticeable>

The first thing that catches your eye when you start playing the game is the graphics.

After a simple cinematic graphic appears, you can immediately control the character.

As the game was developed with Unreal 5, you can fully enjoy the visual pleasure from the start.

However, I was still concerned that there might be some difference between the cinematic and in-game scenes.

In my experience actually playing the game, I liked how the in-game customization was actively reflected in the cinematics.

In effect, the in-game is cinematic.

Even taking my personal tastes into account, I found it quite appealing.

Now let's talk about the combat style.

As I mentioned before, this game follows the JRPG style of turn-based combat .

This method has the characteristic that things to do during my turn and my opponent's turn are determined separately, and progress is made unilaterally during each person's turn.

But in this game, there is a way to respond to your opponent's turn.

On the other hand, there are additional ways to do something other than simply choosing an action during my turn.

This part is implemented as a real-time system using 'timing', which is called QTE.

Even when attacking, if you press the button at the optimal timing, you can perform a much more powerful attack.

<High risk, high return betting system>

You can respond even when your opponent attacks by parrying and evading.

Evasion is simply avoiding an enemy's attack , while parrying is the equivalent of parrying in other games .

If you are quick-witted, you may have noticed that it is much more difficult to use because the timing for parrying is tighter than for evading.

If you succeed in striking, the reward is certain because you can inflict great damage to your opponent.

Although it carries a high level of risk, the corresponding high damage is attractive.

I also tried it a few times during the first combat tutorial and felt like it wasn't working, so I made evasion my main skill.

However, if you gradually gain courage and get used to the timing of your strikes, the battle itself becomes more fun.

It's really amazing how, even when you fail, you end up actively using the kicking system in a strange and natural way.

Depending on the difficulty level, it's also fun to decide which method you want to get used to .

<Faithfully follows the JRPG growth system>

Finally, let's take a look at the growth system.

As I was playing the game, I felt that the unique French sensibility and atmosphere was very alive, so I thought that there might be something unique about the growth system as well.

But despite such concerns, the game system itself follows the JRPG principles very well.

From the part where you acquire skills using skill points, to the ability score system commonly called 'stats'.

From weapon customization to proficiency systems that match your stats... It's a composition that will be satisfying enough for those who like RPGs.

In addition, there are special effects called Pictos and a lasting effect system called Luminar .

It's fun to learn about each thing while playing the game, so I recommend experiencing it yourself.

📌 Game Review

『Surprisingly, it's not Japan

A masterpiece JRPG from a new French game company .

While playing this game, I could fully experience why it was described as a newly evolved JRPG.

Beyond the simple turn-based RPG style, defense and attack are strengthened according to timing.

And the balance between the game's difficulty and the carefully tuned difficulty to fit this system is awesome.

And the game that often comes to mind while playing this game is the Final Fantasy series.

Among them, the Papan 10 and Papan 15 series came to mind a lot.

I think it was because it was the series that best utilized the traditional JRPG style among existing games and was successful.

So, I thought that a turn-based system that could increase the user's playing experience would appear in Japanese game companies, but

연휴가 벌써 끝이 나버렸네요.

연휴 동안 생각해보면 클레르 옵스퀴르랑 로아만 줄창 했습니다.

'잘 쉬었나?' 물어보면 의문이지만, 어쨌든 만족스러운 연휴였습니다.


일기 소재가 떨어져서 오늘은 "로아 OST 중 TOP 3는 무엇일까?"가 주제입니다.

이번주 로아 접속을 오래 하기는 했는데... 강습 랏폿 기다린 게 대부분이어서요.

소재 애매할 때는 이렇게 다른 이야기도 해보겠습니다.

TOP 3. 아르고스 3페이즈



누가 저에게 '게임 노래 통틀어서 뭐가 제일 좋아?'라고 물어보면 고민을 꽤나 할 듯합니다.

하지만, '게임 노래 통틀어서 도입부는 뭐가 제일 좋아?'라고 물어본다면, 이 곡입니다.

그만큼 가슴이 벅차오르는, 웅장함이 뭔지 알려주는 곡이라고 생각합니다.


특히 옛날옛적 아르고스 트라이할 때가 생각납니다.

3페이즈에 고통받으면서도 이 노래만큼은 확실히 들렸죠.

장시간  트라이에 힘들 때도 귀에 쏙쏙 들어올 정도로 노래가 좋았습니다.


여담으로 작곡가님이 이 노래를 3일만에 쓰셨다던데, 천재가 실존하나 싶습니다.

기존에 쓴 거 반려당하고 주말 출근해서 3일컷했다는 인터뷰를 본 기억이 나네요.



TOP 2. 몽환의 아스텔지어: 아브렐슈드 4관문 (구 6관문)


거의 4년 전 아브렐슈드 6관문, 다른 건 몰라도 이 네 글자는 기억이 납니다.

"찬미하라."

카멘 4관문이 280줄, 첫주 모르둠이 425줄이 고역이었다면?

아브에게는 일명 찬미 패턴이 있었습니다.


전멸할 정도로 위험한 패턴은 아니지만, 한두 명은 꼭 죽곤 했었죠.

그래서 자연스레 "찬미하라."라는 대사를 엄청 많이 듣게 되었습니다.


그리고 "찬미하라."와 함께 울려퍼지는 소프라노 목소리가 진짜...

무어라 표현하기도 힘들만큼 좋았습니다.

찬미하라만 6시간 듣고 있어도 이 곡은 귀에 딱딱 꽂힙니다.


'내가 무언가 대단한 것을 하고 있다!' 라는 느낌을 불어넣어준다고 할까요.

그 시절 엔드 보스를 웅장한 배경음 들으면서 잡고 있으니 전율이 느껴졌습니다.

그때의 그 감상은 오래 지난 지금도 잊히지가 않습니다.



TOP 1. 카멘 4관문, 종말의 시


이클립스 따는 데 3주가 걸렸습니다.

2주차 하고도 거의 절반이 지나서야 4-3관문을 들어갔던 기억이 나네요.

모종의 이유로 어둠군단장 칭호 따는 게 많이 늦어졌었고,

210줄 기믹을 못 넘겨서 105줄까지 못 가는 경우도 많았거든요.


그리고 드디어 4-3에 진입했을 때, 컷신 끝자락에서 이 곡이 울려퍼지기 시작합니다.

고요한 피아노 선율만이 울려퍼지고 카멘과의 전투가 이어지죠.


그리고 4-3 진입하고 딱 10초 지나면 이 BGM 안 들립니다.

그때는 전투에만 집중해야 했거든요.

아드레날린도 최고로 돌아서 카멘밖에 안 보입니다.


그러다가 이 곡이 다시 들리는 타이밍이 세번 있습니다.

1. 대격돌

2. 3분 23초

3. 4분이 지나 광폭화로 전멸할 때


의외로 클리어 때는 안 들립니다.

이클립스 클리어하면 도파민 맥스로 돌아서 감각이 차단되거든요.


클리어의 기점을 가르는 대격돌, 그리고 광폭화로 전멸하는 '절망'의 순간, 이 곡이 귓가에 그렇게 잘 들어옵니다.

실제로 곡도 3:23초 즈음부터 분위기가 갑자기 잦아듭니다.

저때까지 딜 못 밀었으면 진짜 큰일난 상황입니다.

광폭화 직전, 거의 마지막 기회라고 봐도 됩니다.


그렇게 광폭화에 절망하며 곡을 듣거나, 클리어하며 듣지 않게 되거나 둘 중 하나가 찾아오죠.


곡 자체도 너무 좋지만, 카멘 레이드의 종지부를 찍는 곡이라는 점에서 더 특별합니다.

종말로서의 '끝'과 군단장 레이드라는 긴 여정의 '끝'을 동시에 느끼게 해준 곡입니다.





짧게 쓰려고 했는데 생각보다 훨씬 길어졌네요.

출근해야 하니 어서 자러 가봐야겠습니다.
