This is a review after visiting on Friday after taking a vacation!

I couldn't go around all the booths, so I'm going to introduce one place that impressed me.

Stove Wonder World is too long, so I'm uploading only this part separately.

The GTX-A that opened this year is divine and invincible.

If you want to go to KINTEX, you have to take a bus, which is quite inconvenient.

I was able to get from Seoul Station to KINTEX in an instant, so it felt like I arrived quickly.

Even though it was a weekday, there were a lot of people.

The first place I visited upon arrival was

Stove Wonder World!!!

Not just anyone can enter, you have to complete the given mission outside the booth.

(Kakao, X, YouTube follow verification, etc.)

So, it's convenient to prepare quickly first on the weekend.

There are a total of 7 booths, and if you clear the mission given to each booth (+ click on the like button),

You can give coins and use them to purchase goods or giveaway prizes.

(Please note that you need to have at least 4 to receive decent goods.)

The first booth I played in was the Veda booth.

You have to press the button to raise the gauge all the way up.

This is the second booth I experienced at Ifsunset.

You just need to select a card first and match what's on the card to the target.

If you don't have a body, you can clear it easily.

Next is the 33rd Expedition booth.

The easiest one, but really hard.

You have to guess 3.33 seconds, and if you guess 3.33 seconds, you get 2 coins.

If you enter within 3 seconds, you will be given 1 coin.

The game I brought you today is a deck-building roguelike, my favorite genre in a long time.

It's still a demo version, but I think it'll be a really fun game if it's polished up a little bit, so I played it for a long time without realizing how much time had passed.

Let's keep the opening simple and move straight into the game.

Dungeon Rumble

Since the appearance of Slay the Spire, aka Darkstone ,

In an era where so many similar games have appeared that the genre could be called sledslike instead of the long name of deck-building roguelike,

To be honest, there were a lot of games that were blatantly similar.

Differentiating factors in game progression, such as Retro Police with real-time defense,

Witches and student council members who form parties and utilize synergy between characters

All of these games involved using cards on your turn to capture your opponent or end the turn.

That is, the act of using the card itself is limited only by the element called cost .

However, Dungeon Rumble brought the Tetris system without using costs.

This is a method of summoning cards by placing puzzles on a 3X4 board, considering the effects and balance of the cards.

Pieces can be rotated by right-clicking the mouse, allowing you to fill the slots in the desired direction.

And similar to Tetris, if you complete a line horizontally and vertically, you will get a stack of 4 horizontally and 3 vertically.

You can use a stack of 20 to draw a card from your deck.

Normally, when you use a card, the card will be summoned in the last order, but you can also change the order of the cards by clicking and dragging.

By using this order, you can calculate the order in which units die and even try to play as a veteran.

Once the user has placed as many Tetris squares as possible in one turn, battle will proceed automatically when starting.

The equipment is worn as soon as the battle begins.

Magic is activated instantly when it is your turn.

When units are stuck together, a death match will occur until one side dies.

It feels a bit like Makgora in WOW, doesn't it?

Since the battle will proceed automatically, you can use as many cards as possible during your turn.

We will have a simple structure where you can simulate the battle situation between units in advance and arrange the order, and the rest will be fought automatically.

Just as you need to think about your battle order, you also need to use your cards carefully.

If there is any part of Tetris that is not successful, a penalty is imposed.

There is no problem with unused squares, but blocks that cannot be turned into Tetris have the limitation that they cannot be used in the next turn.

In other words, the important point is to complete as many horizontal and vertical lines as possible so that there are no blocks left over .

Lastly, the condition for game over is when the user's hero character dies.

In other words, depending on the situation, you can fight with a hero character, but there is a condition that you will lose the game if that character dies.

So the winning conditions for the game would be:

Use Tetris to use cards without penalties , protect your hero units , and break through dungeons!

In addition, there are stores that exist due to the nature of the genre, scroll items that are useful to players before battle, and traits that can be obtained during battle.

There are also some key points that are common in deck-building roguelikes.

I did all this, but it didn't explode or anything?

Using Tetris as a cost for cards,

It's been a while since I've had real fun with a fun idea that imposes penalties for failing at Tetris.

However, I think it was a little inconvenient that there was only the limitation of being a 3X4 square and that if you fail Tetris, you cannot use that square for one turn.

Why don't you give me the carrot and only the stick ?

The only carrot you could get from Tetris was that collecting 20 stacks would grant you 1 draw.

That is, there was no special reward for successfully completing a difficult challenge that used all of the squares.

Cards that have significant power and become the backbone of your deck have a fairly difficult placement difficulty.

When using such complex pieces in a limited 3X4 grid, there were many times when we had to give up on using all the squares.

However, if you are lucky enough to get a good hand and use all 12 spaces in this difficult combination, you will be satisfied. That's all.

For example, a volatile magic that restores one block of a previously destroyed block by successfully completing Tetris.

Perhaps there could be a way to reinforce the fact that you can draw through Tetris, so that if you fill all 12 spaces, you get an additional draw on the next turn?

Whatever it was, I think it would have been better if there was a bit of a feverish feel to it.

Overall rating

I had so much fun playing this game! I think anyone who enjoys deck-building roguelikes will feel the same way.

In particular, the card costs and penalties using Tetris pieces were so fresh and fun.

It's still a demo version so you can't create a variety of decks, but aren't all card games simple at first?

I'll try it out occasionally and wait for the official release!
