The Switch 2 situation is that most games are being released as “game key cards” that only contain the game key , rather than the game itself.
For package collectors, game cartridges are very important, especially when it comes to “real games” inside the package.
1️⃣ The advantage of being able to play immediately without downloading, while 2️⃣ the peace of mind that you can own and enjoy the game without any problems even if the digital service ends. 3️⃣The sense of ownership that lets you feel like you truly own the game, and when this package becomes valuable one day, it can even be sold as an expensive 4️⃣collection! This is a characteristic of packages with various unique values.
Even though I already have the Zelda: Breath of the Wild package, when the Breath of the Wild complete package comes out, including all the DLC, Some people consider this important enough to make duplicate purchases.
However, for some reason, the majority of Switch 2 game packages use the 'game key card' method . There are even cases where it only contains a piece of paper with the game key written on it, without even a cartridge (Split Fiction, 70Gb).
Even if we assume that large-capacity games are inevitable due to the limitations of cartridge capacity , It is questionable why attractive, low-capacity indie games that were often released as packages in the past are now inevitably released in the form of 'game key cards' .
Why is this a problem? You must download the game to play it (nullifying the 'collection value' of the package) If the Nintendo servers are closed, the game will not run. The package price is still more expensive than the digital version, even though the game isn't included! The cause of this problem surprisingly turned out to be a hack of a game company other than Nintendo.

If the cartridge price was added to the game price and passed on to the consumer, it could have been a situation where the stakes were higher than the supply. In the end, these small and medium-sized developers could not avoid the option of using game key cards .
The Switch 2 cartridge uses a different cartridge than the Switch 1 cartridge because it must support the high-speed interface of Switch 2. For Switch 1, there were various versions of cartridges from a minimum of 2Gb to a maximum of 32Gb. Rather than producing such a diverse range of products, the Switch 2 appears to have attempted to cut down on production costs by only producing two types of cartridges (game keys and 64Gb).
On the other hand, this structure is also detrimental to users .
In Switch 2, it has already been declared that “the package version is more expensive than the digital market version.” The key card version is priced at the package version, not the digital version. It doesn't even include the game, so you're paying the extra cost of the package.
However, since you only need the cartridges specific to the package, you cannot enjoy the advantage of not needing additional hardware capacity. It has gotten to the point where I have to pay extra costs (Micro SD EX) to expand the switch capacity. Additionally , the $13 price tag for using the 64Gb cartridge is passed on to consumers .
