Our second visual novel《The Time the Ice Melts》is in preparation.
It's a campus romance visual novel about a cold and prickly senior and a freshman who is still clumsy with college life, slowly growing closer.
We are still in the early stages of development, so there isn't much we can show you yet, but we plan to share updates through our developer notes.

Is there anyway they would at a random perk mode option? I know it isnt that difficult to just go to the page and choose one you like. I just mean that they are all so good, and it would be cool to open the game and see a different lobby each time. They are hard to choose only one, or is it just me?

게임 첫인상
저는 <스포트라이트>라는 영화를 좋아합니다.
보스턴 글로브의 탐사보도 스포트라이트 팀이 가톨릭 아동 성추행 사건을 취재하는 실화 바탕의 영화입니다.
당시 야구에 미쳐 있던 저는 이미 스포츠 기자를 꿈꾸고 있던 때였죠.
영화를 보고 탐사보도 팀에도 관심을 가지게 되었고, 열심히 글을 쓰던 시기가 있었습니다.
오직 진실을 알리기 위해 여기저기 돌아다니며 끝끝내 사람들에게 소식을 전하는 모습이 너무 멋있었거든요.
지금은 그 꿈을 내려놓았지만 각종 언론 탐사보도 팀이 기사를 발행하면 집중해서 읽고는 합니다.
단순 신문이나 뉴스, 언론에 대해 다룬 작품은 많았습니다.
‘헤드라이너’처럼 한 신문사의 헤드라이너가 되어서 어떤 기사를 실을지 선택하는 게임, ‘Not For Broadcast’처럼 송출 화면을 잘 조절해야 하는 게임이 있었죠.
그러나 탐사보도 팀을 다룬 작품은 거의 없습니다.
그렇기에 제게 꿈을 심어준 ‘스포트라이트’만 여러 번 돌려본 것 같아요.
이때 제가 원하던 종류의 게임을 발견했습니다.
위의 기억 덕분에 더욱 몰입하여 즐길 수 있는 게임이었습니다.
잘 짜여진 스토리와 훌륭한 몰입감을 가지고 있는 오늘 리뷰할 게임은 바로편집장 (THE EDITOR)입니다.
게임 플레이
오늘의 게임은 주인공(플레이어)가 망해가는 신문사 새벽일보에 새로운 편집장으로 부임해서 기사의 제목과 사진을 편집해서 신문을 발행하는 게임입니다.
게임을 시작하고 편집장실에서 대표실로 향하면 화면의 여성, 새벽일보의 대표를 만날 수 있습니다.
그녀는 매일 발행한 기사에 대한 평가를 알려주고, 스토리의 진행에서 플레이어의 선택에 도움을 주는 역할을 합니다.
대표와 이야기를 하는 도중 대표가 오늘 아침 1면 기사를 봤냐고 물어봅니다.

기사는 편집장실에서 확인할 수 있습니다.
지광현 의원의 사망 소식은 게임의 핵심 스토리가 되어 플레이어가 다양한 선택을 하게 되는 계기가 됩니다.
회의실에서 탐사보도 팀 소속 세 명의 기자를 만날 수 있습니다.
세 명의 기자는 스토리를 진행하며 해당 챕터의 기삿거리를 제공하고, 편집 방향에 대한 의견을 개진합니다.
가운데의 이나경 기자는 진실을 알리는 것을 우선시하고, 왼쪽의 권세원 기자는 진실보다는 사회 질서를 무너뜨리지 않는 것을 우선시합니다.
그리고 오른쪽의 현기준 기자는 자극적인 기사를 통해 독자를 유인하는 것을 우선시합니다.
스토리를 진행하며, 기사를 발행하거나 스토리에 대한 제보를 받을 때 사진을 제공받습니다.
그리고 그 사진에서 단서를 조사할 수 있습니다.
조사를 통해 상대와 이야기하고, 기사 편집 방향에 대한 의견을 들을 수 있습니다.
제목은 총 세 줄로 이루어져 있습니다.
앞서 조사한 기사 내용과 플레이어의 편집 방향에 맞추어 각 줄에 들어갈 내용을 골라서 드래그합니다.
또한 기사 발행을 위해 사진을 편집합니다.
기사 제목과 어울려야 하고, 편집 방향과 일치해야 합니다.
또, 여백이 드러나게 편집해서도 안됩니다.
이렇게 만들어진 기사는 플레이어가 잠든 시간에 공장에서 발행됩니다.
그리고 그 기사를 읽은 독자들이 해당 사건 내용과 기사에 대한 평가를 내립니다.
엄지의 방향에 따라 긍정적인 평가와 부정적인 평가가 나뉩니다.
이렇게 받은 최종 평가는 다음 날 아침 대표실에서 확인할 수 있습니다.
경영진이 위의 평가 개수에 따라 신문 평가를 내리고 대표와 대화를 통해 확인할 수 있습니다.
경영진으로부터 최악의 평가를 받은 경우에는 해고당할 수도 있습니다.
기사 제목, 사진, 편집 방향 등에 따라 신뢰도, 독립성, 판매 부수가 상승 혹은 하락합니다.
그리고 그 모든 요소를 합쳐 종합 점수를 받습니다.
그리고 이 종합 점수에 따라 신문사 순위가 결정됩니다.
처음에는 맨 밑바닥에서부터 시작합니다.
게임 총평
⌜자리와 상황이 만들어내는 막중한 책임감⌟
'펜은 칼보다 강하다'라는 말이 있습니다.
글 하나로 전해지는 정보의 영향력이 그 무엇보다도 크다는 것을 말합니다.
당장 지금 제가 쓴 이 리뷰 글이 어떤 나비효과를 가져올지도 모릅니다.
아무 생각 없이 글을 적으면, 사진처럼 허무맹랑한 소리가 세상을 지배하게 될 수도 있죠.
이 게임에도 여러 엔딩이 있습니다.
플레이어가 선택한 행동, 기사 편집에 따라 스토리가 조금씩 달라집니다.
풀 더빙과 함께 스토리가 주는 몰입감은 편집장이라는 위치에 대한 막중한 책임감을 배가시킵니다.
플레이어의 선택에 따라 새벽일보는 다시 황금기를 맞을 수도, 파산될 수도 있습니다.
그 뿐만 아니라 대표, 지광현 의원 사건 관계자, 동료 기자들, 그리고 플레이어 자신의 운명도 뒤바뀝니다.
각종 사회 소재를 다루며 사회와 언론의 어두운 면과 밝은 면이 조명되기도 합니다.
학교 폭력, 장애인 이동권, 사이비 종교 등 현실에서 볼 수 있는 문제들로 스토리의 현실성과 몰입감이 돋보입니다.
스토리 게임을 즐기시는 분들, 언론인이 되어보고 싶은 분들께 이 게임을 권합니다.
