Also, the title of the game, 'Claire Obscur', means chiaroscuro in French .

Chiaroscuro is a technique for expressing the relationship between light and dark of an object depicted by light on the screen.

In other words, it conveys the contrast between bright and colorful things and dark things.

This game gave me that same feeling.

One day, a giant painter named Paintless appeared.

This being would wake up once a year and erase the numbers written on the obelisk one by one.

All people whose age matches that number will turn into smoke and disappear.

This number has been decreasing over the years and is now at 33.

To prevent this tragedy, people organized an expedition to confront Paintless.

The game's story begins when the 33rd expedition sets out to rescue Lumiere.

The basic gameplay follows a turn-based system , but it has some unique features unique to the '33 Expedition'.

Typical turn-based games stick to so-called passive play , where players and enemies take turns attacking.

'Expedition 33' broke this mold and introduced an active turn-based system .

Why Active? Combat is basically a QTE system with parrying and evasion .

Next are evasion, parrying, and jumping.

You can dodge or parry depending on the timing of the enemies' attacks.

Evasion with ample judgment timing is reliable when dealing with enemies whose patterns are unfamiliar .

On the other hand, parrying requires precise timing.

If you know the timing, you can unleash a powerful counter attack without taking damage from the enemy.

Finally, jumping only works in special cases where you can neither dodge nor parry, but you can still attack after jumping.

In other words, this is an active system where the outcome of a battle changes depending on the player's skill level.

As you level up, you will gain stat and skill points, which you can freely distribute to suit your taste.

But don't worry too much.

Because you can reset it at any time using the stat reset item .

There is another system here that you may find confusing: the equipment system.

Equipment is largely composed of weapons, pictos, and luminas.

Weapons follow the same system as other games.

However, Pictos and Lumina have their own unique systems that are unique to the '33 Expedition'.

First, Pictos is a kind of rune system where each character can equip up to three of them .

Hello, I will be explaining the Claire Obscure Ciel Tree strategy.

Ciel is a character who deals extreme damage with the 'Prophecy' stack and the 'Twilight' state mechanism.

But! What if you use Ciel like this as a supporter? A new world will open up.

Of course, Ciel is a great character to use as a dealer.

Even if you think you're being fooled and use him as a support, you'll definitely be satisfied.

Do you see Mael receiving the Ciel buff and hitting with '5 attacks' for 9999 damage each?

Moreover, it deals 9934 damage even though it is not a critical hit.

That's the work of supporter Ciel.

Technology deployment

Ready: Grants all allies Rush (increased speed), Shell (damage reduction), and Strength (increased damage).

Pictos / Lumina

Pictos: Wear something that costs a lot of Luminar points or has tanking/speed stats.

Essential Luminar: Start of Vitality, Turn of Vitality (You can wear Turn of Vitality if it comes later)

Luminar would be nice to have:

- Support strengthening lumina such as long-term strengthening, long-term shell, etc.

- AP acquisition Lumina, such as Vitality Strike, Combo Attack, etc.

  - Lumina, who pulls the turn like a preemptive strike

(In the same context, the 'speed' stat is very important)

How to operate

Mob Battle:

- Filling other dealer AP with 'interference' (ex. Rune, Mael)

- Sweep away the enemy camp with high AP skills

Boss Battle:

- Gives a buff to all allies with 'Ready'

- Increase damage with 'Lucky Fury' and 'Sign Card' as needed

- Actively use 'items' on turns when AP is empty or there is nothing to do
