This is my wife. (No bad jokes about “taken,” please!) I was lucky enough to pull two copies of Lin during her pickup, making her 2-star limit broken. However, Lin is currently one of the most difficult units to use effectively in Kazena. So if you, like me, raised her just because of her looks, you might be wondering whether it’s time to switch to another character.

Today, I’ll introduce a Lin-exclusive optimized deck that maximizes her potential and pushes her performance to the limit, even if her base stats aren’t the best.

If you’ve been trying to make Lin work no matter what, you probably already know this deck: the Lin–Ray–Orle combo. There are other setups using Nia or Beryl’s Enhanced Weak Spot for double-DPS teams, but if you want to reach Lin’s true potential, this combination seems to be the best for now. Let’s start with the core of the team, Lin’s setup.

For Lin’s first “Flash,” you can choose either #2 or #4. The higher damage ceiling comes from #2, since it applies critical hits on every strike. However, #4 feels great when your hand is full (10 cards) and you play it as the first move.

For Zan, the best Flash is #4, which searches for Destruction (멸) and Black Fog (흑무). As an optional choice, you can also use #1 Flash. Since the main damage in this setup comes from Destruction and Black Fog, guaranteed searching via #4 is ideal. However, if you can’t activate Black Form early in the game, #1 lets you find a basic attack to trigger it manually. That said, once you reach high-level play, Black Form will be active automatically.

Before discussing Destruction, let’s check Black Cloud Doctrine. Always go with #4 or #5, but in late-game high-damage setups, #5 is locked in. #4 is a decent backup if you haven’t assembled your “Exodia” yet.

For Destruction, either #1 or #4 works well for now. If you ever manage to reach 100% crit rate, then #2 or #3 might become viable. But since 100% crit isn’t realistic at this point, #1 remains the most consistent choice.

As for #5, it’s tempting because of the cost reduction, but the trade-off (losing the Conqueror effect or 1-cost damage boost) and slightly lower base damage make it less appealing overall.

As a partner, Lillian is fantastic. Her passive grants up to triple damage stacking when using skill cards that cost 1 or less, plus she boosts low-cost skills’ damage even further. Her Ego Skill deals AOE damage while also providing a search effect for Lin’s 1-cost cards, making her synergy almost perfect.

Scarlett also offers great buffs that make Lin feel like a one-woman army. Her Ego Skill boosts attack based on beneficial effects, which suits Lin well, but overall, Lillian feels more consistent.

As for Priscilla, her “damage to broken enemies” buff shines in the late game, especially since her Ego Skill can grant Weakness status, making it easier to trigger the bonus.

For gear, aim for Crit Damage weapons and the Fairy King’s Crown armor, which increases Crit Rate. Both drop from the Swamp of Judgment, making them tricky to farm since Lin’s Void attribute isn’t ideal for it.

Next, let’s discuss Orlea’s setup—the true heart of this combo. Her deck configuration is mostly fixed: just remove all offensive cards.

The reason we use Orlea is her many “retained” skill cards. If you manage to hold 4 of her Softy and Sturdy cards in hand, and then draw any skill card plus Black Fog, you can unleash Lin’s one-shot deletion move in style. As a bonus, if you reuse Black Fog via Destruction–Black Fog–Zan, you’ll see what “unstoppable” really means.

One important note: Orlea’s retention effect doesn’t stack, except for Nimble. So don’t try to stack Sturdy for healing, just use retained cards as needed.

As for Flashes, these depend on personal preference. Personally, I farm for the following ones:

Incense: Usually a card you’d remove, but if you get the Enhanced Incense or Parallel Tetrahedron combo, it compresses your deck and draws two cards on the first turn. If you get a Leadership Flash for it, keep it.

Growth Boost: Must be 0-cost. Orlea’s only job is to keep retention cards in hand, so she can’t afford any cost-heavy cards. Ideally, find one with +1 Action Point.

Growing Creature: Opinions vary, but I prefer #1 Flash, which duplicates creatures while simply holding the card.

Compared to Orlea, Ray is more complicated. His passive requires at least one attack card, which might make you question whether he fits with Lin, but once again, in a high-end setup, that one card won’t break your run. In fact, his broken passive and buff cards can further increase Lin’s damage ceiling. Before assigning Flashes, remove all basic attack and heal cards.

For Dark Slash, use #4 or #5 Flash. I tried using it with Parallel Universe (Leadership) to see if Black Form would stay active, it didn’t. So I recommend using #4 for deck compression. #5 is also good since it’s 0-cost, letting you easily play it when Lin’s basic attacks clutter your hand.

Resonant Darkness works well with almost any Flash except #3 or #5. #4 increases Batto Slash damage even at 0-cost, while #2 synergizes with Lin’s Void damage. Still, I recommend farming #1 Flash, as it best enhances Lin’s 1-cost core cards (Destruction/Black Fog).

Snacks come down to preference. If your deck isn’t fully compressed, they’re great for removing unnecessary cards. Once you’ve perfected your deck, farm #2 Flash with +1 Action Point.

Some cards can be safely removed, they’re just filler unless they become 0-cost. If you have plenty of Action Points, #3 Flash is probably best.

The last attack card your support starts with is the only one in the deck, but it’s a must-keep since it provides Cheat Level 4, a massive buff. Ideally, get other Flash cards that also grant “Cheat” effects to amplify it further.

By now, you’ve probably realized that this deck is basically Exodia. You need to align a ton of moving pieces - gear, skills, potentials, and fragments, to reach its peak. But that’s exactly what makes it so satisfying. Personally, I keep polishing this deck every day because I love that challenge. Still, I’m starting to feel tempted by other decks lately, haha.

i'm half way through the new quest chapter and it's so inconsitent, it's annoying. Refereng female characters as a "He" refering male as a "she" and etc.
