Entropy Effect Developer: Commercial games inevitably isolate the development team from the players. Indie games allow you to communicate honestly with players.

Q) Aren't Chinese game prices too low?

Overseas game prices are rising. Everyone thinks the mainstream price for Chinese games is around 80 yuan (about 16,000 won), but do you think a range of 200 yuan (about 40,000 won) is cheap?

Sultan's Game Developer: I think Infinite Divine Generals should be 20 yuan more expensive than it is now. If a Japanese game company made a Soulslike game, 220 yuan (about 45,000 won) would be very cheap. So why are Chinese games cheaper? What's the problem?
Guigubahuang Developer: It's actually an internal problem. If you look at the recently discounted Witcher 3, you can buy it for about 10 yuan. The initial release price of Witcher 3 was about 300 yuan. It's ridiculous to compare a sale price after 10 years to a game released today.

Q) What is the profit ratio that goes back to the developers?

Is it around 10-30% for everyone?

Sultan's Game Developer: 30-35%. 

Guigubahuang Developer: It's easy to calculate. Steam takes 30%, and if it's in the US, you automatically deduct 10%, and then divide the remaining 60% with the distributor 5:5, so it's 30%. It depends on the ratio with the distributor, but most are 4:6 or 5:5, right?

Sultan's Game Developer: You have to add domestic taxes to that.

Guigubahuang Developer: After deducting all that up to 6.75%, there may be some policies. It could be a corporate tax of 25%.

Q) Do you think the domestic evaluation of Chinese indie games is too harsh?

Sultan's Game Developer: I think the final evaluation will come back to the value of the game in the long term. Looking at it in years.

Guigubahuang Developer: They cheer like crazy when they support you, but they are very harsh when they are harsh. Whether this is good or bad, I don't think being overly emotional is necessarily a good thing. So, in my opinion, being a little less emotional and looking back at the product itself may be better for future development.

Infinite Divine Generals Developer: Because there is a lot of support for Chinese developers, Chinese players demand more. However, I hope you will be a little more merciful when you criticize.
