Q. First, please introduce Kang Ya-ho (or the development team). What kind of background did you start creating from?

A. Hello

I'm Kang Ya-ho, a one-person developer

I am writing scenarios, drawing pictures, and developing while raising a 3-year-old baby

I used to love drawing comics, but I hated drawing backgrounds more than death, so I moved on to visual novels

You have to draw backgrounds all the time in comics, but in visual novels, you only need to draw a few

 

Q. What was the motivation for planning this work ‘Near And Dear IF’ and what is the overall concept?

 

A. I was making a female-oriented hetero eroge Near And Dear, but I was going to release a demo, but I heard that it costs money to review it.

As a result of my anger, I made the IF version instead of the demo so that many people could see it, not 19 gold.

As the main target character is William, the basic concept is Hupi-jip (regret, ruin, obsession), but other players with different tastes are also considered, so there are characters that are not related to him (August and Edwin, etc.)

 

Q. Why did you choose the visual novel genre?

A. I didn't have the ability, so this was the only genre I could develop

 

Q. Which had the biggest impact: literature, animation, or games?

A. I got a lot of inspiration from web novels that are very popular and trendy these days

 

Q. If there are parts that you developed alone and parts that you collaborated on, I'm curious about what roles were divided specifically.

 

A. I did it all by myself

I cried and did it even though I didn't want to..

 

Q. Is there a special reason why you released this work for free? What message did you want to convey?

A. I released it for free because the amount and gameplay were ambiguous

Q. How is the story structured? Can you also explain the meaning behind the subtitle ‘IF’?

A. I was originally going to make an eroge called Near And Dear, but I found out that 19+ game demos cost money to review during the demo release process.

So, instead of the demo, I released the spin-off IF version

 

Q. What part did you consider most important when designing the personalities and emotional lines of the main characters?

A. Dopamine must be released from the people who see the characters expressing their emotions

Q. What characteristics or differences do you think Near And Dear IF has as a visual novel?

A. There are very few BLs in female-oriented visual novels that fall under the so-called Hupi-jip (regret, ruin, obsession), so I think my work is different in that it is a hetero work, but it is just okay to watch in Hupi-jip

 

Q. Emotional elements such as music, UI, and directing are strong in the work, are there any specific reference works or inspired styles?

A. I was only faithful to the concept of the black rose of obsession

A. Because I am a Kang (or to look strong), I put Kang in it, and I put Yaho in it to make it look cheerful.

A. The title of the next work is Kim Severance Minginyu of Technology and Chaos

It's about a main character with various attack skills getting entangled with crazy princes

I will make it by the end of this year, and after that, I will make the main story of Near And Dear

6 people will appear as targets, including William, Edwin, and August
